A man needs to overcome his debilitating self-esteem issues all on his first day of work at a futuristic utopian company.
What is The Apex Project?
This is a short film (5 minutes) about love, over coming mental challenges, and digging deep to find one's true self. It is set in the future, in this company called The Apex Project. Their mission is to develop, create and test synthesized 'characteristics'. These have temporary effects and have a wide range from 'suavity', making one irresistible to women, to 'humility' and for any other situation where you may not have the natural ability.
Our story focuses on a brand new employee to the company. His job, as a thinker is to develop the concepts for new characteristics. However, he can't focus on his job as the only other worker in his room, a beautiful girl, distracts him. His wanting to introduce himself to the girl is conflicted by his detrimental self-esteem issues. His idea? To use the synthesized 'characteristics' to get the girl.
This film relies heavily on how realistic we can make this company look. This is where your contributions are mainly going towards. We need your help to make this the greatest film possible.

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
This is a very ambitious project for a student production. So here are some challenges and how we will face them...
CREATING AND BUILDING THE SETS
For our vision we want these sets to be as realistic as possible. This requires a lot of work and a lot of talent. This is something that as a student production actually makes our jobs easier. Many of our peers our excellent set designers and artistic geniuses. There is no lack of skill at our school.
OTHER UNKNOWN CHALLENGES
If you have ever worked on a film before or even read about the behind the scenes of a film before you will know that many things go wrong. However the team we have assembled are very bright and great at problem solving. We have thought of various ways to stretch our budget and get the best picture possible.
