Hi folks. Here's a little update before I depart for eastern Oregon. It's been a while since I've been out there, and I'm excited to revisit a few places, including Steens Mountain, a 50-mile-long escarpment whose remoteness is evident in the ratio of its physical size to Wikipedia article length.
If you haven't been visiting my website, check out the interviews that I did at the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, California. Charles Schulz is the artist who drew Peanuts, and while I was staying in the Bay Area recovering from the wild boar attack I interviewed Jeannie Schulz, Charles Schulz's widow. I also interviewed archivist Lisa Monhoff, who showed me some interesting items from the museum's collection.
While I'm traveling, drawings, collages, and travel stories from my two-page letters are being auto-posted daily to my website. There's some neat stuff there. Here's an excerpt from a comic that will run near the end of the series:
And after updating my voter registration today, I dropped some more postcards in the mail. Here are a few postcard-related "facts" that recipients of the gift subscription postcards will be receiving:
So that's that. I'll be sending postcards and updates from the road. In the meantime, here are a couple more postcard-related goodies to keep you all psyched up.
