About this project
kART Across America, the documentary about finding art in America at 30mph, is nearly complete. A romp around the country in 90 minutes, this poignant, inspirational, and hilarious comedy follows Jeremy Make and Andy Raney as they uncover artists from all walks of life — from three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Edward Albee to Angela's Ashes author Frank McCourt; from female blacksmith Shannon Von Wright to two-handed sketch artist Angus Galloway; from ex-con spoken word poet Jahbu Ourinde to homeless t-shirt designer Donny James. Along the way, they began to uncover their own art forms as well.
The Denver International Film Festival (in the city in which the golf kart is now parked) has a final deadline for submissions of July 30. Their goal is to submit kART Across America by that date and bring the premiere of the film to the city that helped inspire its creation. A few more weeks of editing is all that's left. (Plus the money to fund that final push).
With your donation, they hope to complete the edit of the feature-length documentary, apply to and win a spot at the Denver Film Fest, and continue to bring the film around the country to subsequent festivals. Ideally, every artist in America should have the opportunity to see the film that they helped bring to life.
