On the 5th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, meet six real-life New Orleans characters whose lives were irrevocably changed by the storm.
"23 Feet in 12 Minutes" will debut at the NYC Fringe Festival this year, coinciding with the 5th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. This play, based on interviews with over 60 Katrina survivors and New Orleans transplants, follows 6 real-life New Orleans characters whose lives were irrevocably changed by the storm. We are seeking to raise funds to PROFESSIONALLY VIDEOTAPE this production so that it will have a life beyond the Fringe Festival performances.
Without a video of our show, we can't get outside producers to help us take it around the country, and especially to New Orleans, to expose people to the nuanced impact this historical event had on peoples' lives. $400 gets us a full video of the show plus a photo shoot that we can use for promotional purposes. The goal of our production company, Word on the Street Productions, is to create theater that is intimate, challenging, and true to life. Help us bring these stories to stages beyond the Fringe!
