About this project
Greetings,
I have an exciting new project for all of you interested in art, satire, social politics and where it all intersects. As some of you are aware the Illinois ex-Governor was recently impeached. Since then he has been making the rounds on network television defending his case.
Recently, graffiti art stencils of Illinois' disgraced former governor jogging in a track suit and looking over his shoulder are finding their way onto buildings and alleys around the city, the Chicago Tribune reports.
I'd like to host an art show on this phenomenon and invite artists to interpret the classic jogging pose. INVEST in this project and help make this a reality.
Run, Blago Run! Show A 3-day pop-up art gallery of work depicting ex-Governor Rod Blagojevich aka Blago. Maybe you've seen him jogging or lighting campfires in Chicago. Or maybe you've heard the self-professed 'hard working cowboy' compare himself to Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The Run, Blago Run! Show will allow these dreams to come true. Brought to you by CRO + friends. Artists will interpret the classic jogging pose in any medium.
The show will take place in a vacant storefront in Wicker-Park, Chicago. Location TBA.
Date: July 2009
10% of show sales donated to Street-Level Youth Media. (www.street-level.org)

Thanks to everyone that has already pledged your support for the "Run Blago Run" Show but we STILL NEED YOUR HELP. Give as little as $1!
Blago did a great job taking money AWAY from arts funding while in office, why not use this imagery and this saga to inspire and support the arts?
Only You Can Make This Happen...
THIS JUST IN... We have just confirmed two judges for the show's open-call for Blago art, House Music Legend Derrick Carter and Actress Joan Cusack! Others TBA.
Proposed contributions from artists include a wooden sculpture of Blago's hairbrush, a glow-in-the-dark Blago Air-Yeezy painting and a needlepoint Blago!
Current Artist list: Diederick Kraaijeveld, Jeff Zimmerman, Tariq Rafiq, Dan Lacey, Mireya Acierto, Scot LaFavor and others TBA

Mr. CRO is a Chicago-based artist and designer who creates social & political satire. My work is simply about visually documenting and recording pop, social and political issues of my time. I embrace the hand of the artist and technology. In my work, I comment on the American dream and the subsequent gap between it and reality. My work addresses racial identity, pop culture, politics and at times alludes to underlying social behaviors historical and current which continue to shape American society. I’m trying to engage in social and political discourse in a humorous way. Often times these themes are combined into work reflecting heros and/or villains of our society. Like a vessel, I constantly receive stimuli from the environment which becomes part of my work. I present the viewer with a mirror reflection of the world. My social commentary weds graphic form with brazen content. The result is at times stark and brash and at others photographic and honest.
