Of Being Picked, and Being Popular… Kickstarter-style
Dear Backers, It’s time to get POPULAR on Kickstarter if we hope to generate the traction needed to hit our goal by midnight EST next Tuesday, June 5!!
So what do we mean? The Kickstarter front page displays only two categories of project: Staff Picks, and Popular this Week. If you’re not in one of those categories, it’s near impossible for random visitors to the Kickstarter site to stumble upon projects they don’t already know about. In fact, the only way to find our project from the Kickstarter main page is by entering the exact search terms “The Time Tribe”! So this is a chicken-and-egg problem for sure, making it tough for us to pick up steam in the general Kickstarter community, despite all the great, enthusiastic feedback and comments we’re getting from the people who find out about it through direct outreach from us, or from fans such as yourselves.
Sadly we didn’t catch the eye of the Kickstarter powers-that-be, but if our project can make it into the Popular category by showing a steady spike in backers over the next couple of days, we’d stand a chance of being featured in the Popular category, making it possible for general browsers at the Kickstarter site to find us, too!
So here's what we're offering: if you get two of your friends to back The Time Tribe in this last week – and have them email us at karen@thetimetribe.com to let us know you were the one who referred them – we'll bump your reward level to the next major one. Member, Patron, Leader, and all the big bonus stuff up to the $1000 reward level. At no additional cost to you!
And if you're the person who makes the most referrals, we'll use your likeness for an NPC in the game! See yourself in historic period costume!
