If you've chosen a reward, you'll be receiving information about when and how to claim it soon.

We are overwhelmed by the response we've received from this campaign. All of your support -- from friends, family, teachers, principals, parents with young children, friends of friends, and people whom we've never even met -- demonstrates to us a real concern about bullying and a real need for our work.

We hope you are as excited as we are about the impact Alice's Story will make in schools and communities across the NY tri-state area. Because of you, we'll be able to reach more kids than ever before. We cannot thank you enough!!

30 Hours Left & $3,000 Short of Reaching Our Goal!!

Update #12 · Aug 30, 2011 · comment

Hi Everyone,

We've secured a large donor who will be making a $10,000 contribution!

BUT...he won't do it until we get to $40,000.

That leaves us about $3,000 short of our goal.

If we can raise that money before tomorrow evening, we will absolutely reach $50,000!!

Everyone here at Making Books Sing is working hard to bring this last bit of money in, but we need your help to close the deal!! Remember, if we don't make our goal of $50,000, we lose everything.

Please continue to help us spread the word and cross the finish line!

The response we've received from this campaign has been incredible, and we cannot thank you enough for the support you've shown for Alice's Story. Your involvement will make a huge difference in the lives of thousands of kids!

Thanks so much,

The Making Books Sing Staff & Alice's Story Creative Team

Update #11 · Aug 29, 2011 · comment

Hello Everyone,

Huge thanks to the twenty new backers who donated over the weekend! Your contributions will go a long way in helping NY tri-state area children understand and deal with bullying. If you haven't already, take a look at the earlier backer updates on our Kickstarter page to read about the show's past successes. You can also see interviews with members of the Alice's Story creative team.

We still need to raise $13K in the next two days to make our goal of $50K. Remember, if we don't reach our goal buy 6:42pm Wednesday, we lose EVERYTHING!  We've come so far already, but need your help to reach the finish line. Every email and post on Facebook and Twitter helps -- please keep up the amazing work you've been doing, and as always, thank you for the incredible support and dedication you've brought to this campaign!!

Thanks again,

What Makes Alice's Story Unique?

Update #9 · Aug 24, 2011 · comment

Schools who have seen Alice’s Story have described their students’ experience with really positive feedback. Sophie Scamardella, Principal of PS 65 The Academy of Innovative Learning, explained what's unique about the play as follows:

“Our third graders experienced a presentation of Alice’s Story [this past year]. Our students witnessed a theatrical “bullying situation.” They were extremely affected by the negative impact that it had on the "student” that was being bullied. This led into thoughtful conversation about what constitutes “bullying” and ways to address this behavior. We were all very impressed with the effectiveness of this program.”

Thanks Principal Scamardella! We are excited to bring Alice’s Story to more schools and students, free of charge, so they can also engage in powerful discussions about bullying after watching the performance together.

As always, thanks so much to all of you for supporting our efforts to bring Alice’s Story to more schools. We could not do this without you and we appreciate your help! Please continue to email, facebook, and tweet about our campaign!!
