Hi everyone! My name is Savannah Berry and I am a country singer and songwriter from Houston, Texas. A lot of you have probably come to know me from my YouTube channel (SavannahSings) where I have been posting videos for a while now.
When I was in just the sixth grade I began posting videos on YouTube for my family and friends. I was surprised when I began to get such nice comments from people from all over that I didn't even know! Last year, my YouTube channel really took off and I started to get as many as 3,000 views per day. I was even discovered on YouTube by my favorite group, Sugarland, and I was invited to sing a duet with them that was used to promote the Academy of Country Music Awards!
Now one of the questions I've heard the most from all of you is "When are you going to release your own CD?"
Last year I was finally able to record my first album. Like I said in the video, I got to co-write with some really great songwriters, Zac Maloy, who wrote Carrie Underwood’s “Temporary Home,” and Kevin Griffin, who wrote “Stuck Like Glue” with Sugarland. The CD was recorded in Nashville at Omni Sound Studios and we are going to be releasing it later this year. That’s why this Kickstarter campaign is so important – to raise the money to promote the CD.
I have to say, I am really proud of these songs and this EP. You can hear a preview of a couple of the songs on my website, SavannahBerryMusic.com
I’ve set a goal of $10,000 and as I mentioned before, the album is already done, so once we reach the goal and the Kickstarter campaign is completely funded then the album will ship out immediately to everyone that contributed! No waiting! :)
Here’s what I have already done with the help of my family…
- Recorded Six Songs
- Publicity Photo Shoot
- CD cover art
- Redesigned my website
- Made a music video for “Love Me Like You Mean It” (coming soon!)
- Manufactured the CD
And this is what the money raised through Kickstarter will be used for
- Hire a digital marketing company to help get my music and video distributed on-line so that lot’s of people can see it!
- Rehearse with my band and travel to Nashville for an industry showcase in May.
- Make a second music video for the song “Cold October”
If we exceed the goal of $10,000, then the money will be used for
- Hire a pr company to help set-up reviews and interviews so that even more people can discover the music
- Regional and National Touring
- Web contests and Radio promotion
- Marketing and promotion of the second video.
