I'll actually be putting something up in the way of an update pretty soon here. It's been a long time coming, but it is coming. :-) Keep an eye out.

      Hi Eloy,

Any update on the status of the Little People pdf?

    3. Me.small

Creator Eloy Lasanta on July 11, 2012

Yep! An oversight. It would have been +1B for the next day.

I had asked this before in a message, but got no reply, and it's the same in the book as the PDF.
The 0 Charm chart, #9 (page 56) states "Sweaty Brow (+1 B to Charm rolls for the rest of the Scene)". but once an Atribute drop to 0 hits (as per page 55) "the character cannot use that Attribute for any Task of Conflict until it heals back".
So is that effectively a freeby for the character, since they can't use Charm anyway?

Hmm. Olympics might be an idea I hadn't thought of. I'll look over that one, and yes, I can run with it, if we get past the written stuff.
      Thanks for the speedy reply!

From my experience, it depends on how excited your players are for the setting and their characters. For instance, I ran The Rescue a bunch of times. It lasted 1 hour one time and 2.5 hours the other, the difference being the amount of banter, extra obstacles and general tom-foolery being had by the players. But i'd say that those adventures are not all the same either. Being Human is longer than the Rescue and so should the Undersea Olympics be.

So, yeah, I'd say, run an adventure from the book and if it runs early, roll randomly for some crazy junk to happen and see how everyone reacts!

Creator Céline .S. Sauvé on July 11, 2012

How long are the premade adventures generally ment to last? I'm offereing to run a session (that or Faery's Tale, its' a Battle of the Games;) at MonkeyCon 1, and the slots are 3 hours long.
I'm wondering if I might be better off just rolling the random chart and create my own, if they're too short.

Celine - It's fully flexible for everyone to roll their own dice if they want!

Travis - Nice! Hope you enjoy! If you got it in a yellow envelope, then it came from my house with love! :-)

      Thanks!

Who Rolls is covered on page 10. In most cases, 1 person rolls, but if the group wants, they can have each person roll their own. Hopefully, that clears that up! :-)

Does anyone know who rolls for PC-vs-PC conflicts? Pages 53-54 seem to cover this, and state the rules for what happens if the attacker gets 1 or 3+ successes, and if the defender does, but not who rolls. Does just one roll and the other PC is considered the "Black" dice for that roll?

I'd assume if the PC is defending from a NPC, then the NPC is "Black" either way, and the PC is "White", and then you just apply the results for attacker/defender as required, but I was just wondering for two PCs.

Is the May 2012 delivery timeline still good, are are you looking to June or later? (I don't mind waiting a bit, but I like to have an idea before the summer [and camping] sneaks up on us.)

Congrats on getting over 250% of your original target, Eloy! I've run D&D games for groups of mostly teenage girls, as well as a few once-off intro games for younger audiences. It's nice to have a game tailored to be more widely appealing and accessible to all age groups and genders.

      Eloy,
Thank you. I have been looking for an easy way to introduce my daughters to gaming. She is already a massive sci if fan at age 4, and is constantly bugging me about what happens when I go gaming. This, I hope will be a great way to introduce her to the hobby.

Had to pick this up for my daughter. She loves mermaids and always what daddy does with his gaming. Also helps to lock in the second stretch goal!

Eloy: Thank you, thank you, thank you. My daughters are obsessed with Mermaids and while they continue to try to play RPGs like Gamma World and Faery, I have been working on my own homebrew so they could play their favorite fantasy creature. It was like you read my mind. I can't wait to get the pdf and get them running on their own adventures.

Sorry, update #11 not #9 (sheepish grin)

    33. Classygorgon.small

Creator Randy Warren on April 5, 2012

Your latest update (#9) says to add $15 for color but the $10 level says the pdf is color at $10. Which is correct please and just to be clear how much do I have to pledge to get the pdf only and in color. Thanks and can't wait to play this with my daughters!!!

Just a couple quick comments on this game as a playtester. Our group of players consisted of my 8 year old daughter, 11 year old daughter, 12 year old son and finally my 19 year old son. First off the character creation was flat out hilarious. My girls thought this was so much fun that the next day they were up early at the kitchen table make random characters. Between the random charts and the qualities the character combinations are limitless. Secondly the game play or task resolutions is so easy yet still works incredibly well. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who has daughters or son from 8-13 who are interested in role playing. This game is something that is needed in the role playing industry to get kids into gaming earlier in life. Great job Eloy I cannot wait to see the finished product.

I've been a big fan of mermaids even before I was a roleplayer, so I hope to get most general mermaid fans to check this game out and have a ball with it. Thanks so much for the pledge and for being the first person to use this comment section!
