Facebooking is a feature-length documentary about the positive societal impact of nearly one billion people using Facebook.  The film examines how the site draws us closer together in our personal lives and keeps us better connected to our larger communities, local and global. 

We find old friends and make new ones and communicate more often with the people in our lives about topics both mundane and profound.  After resisting Facebook for way longer than a technology guy should have, it now plays a central role in my daily online life.  The website actually helped me through the pain of losing my father earlier this year. 

Facebooking seeks to understand all Facebook users as it follows the threads of specific stories around the globe.  Behind-the-scenes access every step of the way offers an extreme close-up of the creative process and makes Facebooking the first experiential documentary involving the audience as an integral part of making the film. 

With your generous donations, we can finish Facebooking over the next year and release it in time for Christmas 2012.  Thanks in advance!

HOW CAN I SUPPORT FACEBOOKING?
Just click the green “Back This Project” button to the right.  You will input your pledge amount and select a reward.  From there, you go through the Amazon checkout process.  You can also click the "like" button up above and join the Facebooking group on Facebook to help raise the project's visibility.  Sending a note to your extended network linking to this page would be a great bonus and help make Facebooking a Christmas miracle!

WHAT ARE WE GETTING FOR OUR MONEY?
The Kickstarter budget will fund an ambitious, worldwide production schedule via planes, trains and automobiles over the next six months to bring the private stories of Facebook to life in full 1080p HD.  It will also pay for an original film score, post production, motion graphics, DVD/BluRay reproduction, licensing fees, poster printing, digital distribution and global film premiers at the five locations listed on the whiteboard above.

WHAT IF WE DON'T REACH OUR GOAL?
Kickstarter is an All or Nothing process unfortunately.  If funding fails, all pledges are canceled and that's that.  Your card is not charged.  It’s like a tree falling with no one around to hear it and the producers will start from scratch.  Please don't let that happen.  Christmas will be here before you know it, so donate what you can today!

The short documentary film below is my latest production after nearly twenty years of using words and video to tell complex stories.
