About us:
We are a 2-man team and it was either make video games or become professional male models. Actually, making video games was our only option.
About the game:
You play as a young alien boy named Rocko, who has been taken from his planet and forced to work for his evil alien overlords making crop circles on various planets to prepare for the oncoming invasion. One night on Earth, Rocko decides to make a run for it and escapes to a nearby skatepark. There, he befriends a group of skaters who shelter and protect him as he hones his skating skills and seeks revenge.
Rocko: Dawn of the Shred is a very technical skate game with loads of tricks while simultaniously being a beat'em up side-scroller. Essentially, you build up your shred to unlock your specials which then help you beat the enemies and bosses. On the halfpipe, you concentrate on performing technical tricks in order to build up your shred. Use your specials once your shred is built up to climb higher and higher to battle all kinds of enemies. The street platformer is set up so that you skate a very technical area with no enemies allowing you to build up your shred. Once your shred is built up you then leave the area and it becomes a beat'em up whereby you use your now unlocked specials to beat the level.
What the money is for:
We'd really like to make it a bigger game with many more levels and bosses. In order to do that we need to be able to work on it full time, so we did the math and $18,000 was the number we came up with. Hopefully it is not too high but it's a risk we've decided to take.
