"Beyond the Frame" is a special tribute show to the Italian
painter/sculptor Lucio Fontana, opening on September 8th at
Contemporary Wing in Washington DC. The show will feature three
recent graduates of the Maryland Institute College of Art whose work,
like Fontana's, goes around, behind and beyond the frame of the traditional
painting.

Co-curator Nathan Lincoln-DeCusatis has convened a group of DC's most
adventurous musicians to premiere a suite of his original compositions
inspired by Fontana's Spatialist aesthetic that will be premiered
during the opening reception. And co-curator Mike Maizels will present
a fully illustrated catalog featuring interpretive essays on each
artist. Included with the catalog will be a CD of Nathan's
Fontana-inspired compositions.

In order to make this event happen, we need your help! This
fundraising drive will be used to fund various aspects of the project,
including printing the catalog and producing the opening night concert.
