Sending out the Last of the Rewards!

Update #11 · Dec 19, 2012 · comment

Dear Kickstarter Supporters,

The last of the rewards - the Phil Stearns prints - are being sent today via priority mail.

If you haven't received your reward by year-end - and you gave me your address in the survey I sent out - let me know.  Otherwise, I will consider all pledges to be fulfilled at this time.  Please note that if you requested a physical item but never gave me your address, I had no way of sending you your reward.

The conference was an incredible success: please see our youtube channel softwareandart or search flickr members for softwareandart to learn more, or check out our still-being-updated website at http://softwareandart.com.

Thank you so much and see you next year!

Isabel

Update #9 · Dec 3, 2012 · comment

Finally got all the pictures up from the Leaders in Software and Art Conference. Lots and lots, but you can pick out the ones you find interesting to zoom in for a closer look.  I'm still working on putting in names and captions - feel free to help out.

Still working on getting the videos up!  And shortly thereafter, I'll be doing blog posts about each session, talk and panel.  Stay tuned.

Typo - it's Shirt B that won, not Shirt C.

Update #8 · Oct 13, 2012 · comment

I'm sorry to disappoint anyone, but when i announced that shirt C won the popular vote, that was a brain typo (a Freudian slip I think).  Although shirt C was my personal favorite and the one I wanted to wear the most, in fact it was shirt B that won the popular vote.  And it looks great!  (see update #7 for some regrettably grainy pics).

If you supported us at the shirt level, we're mailing them out next week.

Best,

Isabel

Wow! It's really happening!

Update #7 · Oct 13, 2012 · comment

Dear Kickstarter Supporters,

I can't believe that 6 short weeks ago we were still wondering whether this project would meet our Kickstarter goal.  And now - because of your support - the Leaders in Software and Art conference, LISA 2012, is about to begin.  And boy oh boy, do I have news.

* The conference is SOLD OUT!

* Laurie Anderson is keynoting, and so is Scott Snibbe!

* There's a FREE salon this Sunday from 4-7 that still has about 30 seats.  Get details and register before it sells out.  Sorry for the short notice (I've been pretty maxed out, from a busyness perspective).

* If you supported this project at a level that earned you a conference ticket (10/16 from 8am-6:15pm plus afterparty) or an afterparty ticket (10/16 from 8:30pm-11:45pm), you should have received a confirmation email from Eventbrite that serves as your ticket in the door and gives you all the details about the event.  If you did not, please email me immediately: isabel@draves.org.

* Thanks to the generous support of our Kickstarter backers, in particular Phyllis, Wendy, Barbara, Anne, Michael and Brett, we were able to invite a generous number of students and women who work at the intersection of technology and art as our conference guests.

* If you would like me to tweet about your support and follow you on Twitter, please email or Kickstarter message me your Twitter handle.

*The brochures are printed:

http://softwareandart.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/LISA-2012-conference-program.pdf

*The t-shirts are made: (see attached phone photos - stay tuned for real people wearing shirts!) - If you supported this project at a level that earned you a t-shirt, you should receive your t-shirt within 2 weeks or so.

*The speakers are trained: http://www.barnettinternationalconsulting.com/ , http://www.larrygleason.com/public_speaking_coaching.htmlhttp://33millionpeople.com/index.php/about/consulting/

*We're on track to make videos of our lightning talks: stay tuned!

*We have real, paying gold sponsors:

*We mailed out all the Scott Draves/Electric Sheep prints.  If you supported the project at this level and did not receive a print, please let me know.

*Phil Stearns prints should go out by the end of October.

I'll have more news soon!

Thanks for everything, my friends - I am truly, deeply grateful.

Best,

Isabel Draves
