Dearling Physique - Alphabet Tracer
In October of 2011 we released Tracing The Alphabet. This 4-song EP of new material addressing youth and re-discovery was achieved following a strict DIY process and with minimal outside funding. Our efforts were met with early praise from European-based music TV station tape.tv, MTV’s popular music blog MTV Iggy, Seattle radio station KEXP and new listeners worldwide. We feel it is time to take advantage of this growing attention.

Every aspect of Tracing The Alphabet is a manifestation of our vision aided by the strength and skill of our fashion, film, and studio collaborators. In order to allow the continued realization of this vision, we are humbly asking our fans and supporters for assistance so that we may create Tracing The Alphabet’s full-length follow up Alphabet Tracer. This includes four music videos and an extraordinarily ambitious touring performance production. The growing opportunity for us to carry this all-encompassing experience into cities around the world is temporarily stifled due to lack of financing that we are not able to generate ourselves.

Your pledge will go towards:
• Recording, mixing, mastering, and replication of Alphabet Tracer
• Production, filming and editing of four new music videos from Alphabet Tracer
• Stage production and prop design associated with live performances, covering the United States, Canada and Europe in 2012 (with more countries in the near future).

How Tracing The Alphabet Was Born
In the summer of 2011, Domino was awarded a Travel and Study Grant from the Jerome Foundation to explore the electronic music scene of Berlin, Germany and to immerse himself in a foreign urban environment as a means of experiencing the themes of alienation, solitude, and otherness, as inspiration for new work. This experience fueled the creation of a conceptual album titled Alphabet Tracer – a bombastic interpretation of pop culture through the distinctive eyes of Dearling Physique.

Dearling Physique are an electronic band based in Berlin/Minneapolis consisting of Domino Davis, Matt Vannelli and Doug Louiselle.
Since the inception of Dearling Physique in 2005, we have sought to foster an all-encompassing experience that ignites imagination using electronic music as a fiery vehicle of expression. Our efforts have resulted in grandiose and self-supported collaborations with artists from nearly all disciplines, including theater, make-up, cinematography, fashion, dance and visual + video art. Rather than follow the common trajectory of bands that come into widespread success, we wish to forge our own path - creating a global experience that is supported by fans and lovers of music alike – not record labels.
We see no boundaries, no limitations.
