About this project
Kids Talks Politics is Ken Sheetz's acclaimed documentary series of the US elections from the point of view of America's kids 8 to 12 years old. In 2012 Ken and his film crew will travel across the US, as he has been doing since 1996 during election cycles, giving kids, Republican and Democrats kids alike, a voice in their future.
In 2000 the show aired on PBS as the lead into the Presidential debates and in our 2008 spawned both a hit web channel with over 2 million views and the DVDs of the 2008 coverage has stayed #1 for kids and politics on Amazon since 2009.
Rave reviews from Reuters, the LA Times, Parent Magazine, YouTube Politics, and many more have welcomed this show and will again for 2012! Think "60 Minutes" meets "Kids Say the Darndest Things".
Quotes from amazing reviews for Kids Talk Politics 2008:
Reuters - "Kids get as worked up as pundits on the nightly news!"
Education Magazine - "Sheetz's documentary shows kids care a lot more about politics than we think."
PopTub -"Kids Talk Politics is crazy adorable!"
The L.A. Times - From a Half Page Story About our Show! - "Just as heated as any debate over the economy or the war in Iraq."
KTLA News - "... making this election something of a family affair.
HOW THE SHOW GETS OUT TO THE PEOPLE LONG BEFORE THE FINAL SHOW!
Clips of kids talking politics will air in segments on ww.w.YouTube.com/kidstalkpolitics and our page www.kidstalkpolitics.com through the November 2012 elections so you'll begin seeing fresh material as early as spring.
KTP stays current with the news and many of our videos go viral that way. But the best thing is this gives the kids a chance to sway voters!
Immediately after the elections all the best material is gathered and fashioned into a historic recording of the entire election from the POV of kids for DVD, or it may end up on broadcast TV as it has in the past on PBS!
WHY YOUR DONATION IS SO IMPORTANT
Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, we love them, love to have our kids on their shows, but despite the advertising claims, none of them are fair and balanced. So kids and adults love our show as it's one of the few places left where you'll see Dems and Reps getting along. This started out in 1996 not to be such a big thing but the see kids of both parties enjoying the fun of little debates and mini-conventions has become important. And your donation is what gives America's kids a voice in the future. Thank you!
SEE YOU ON INAUGURATION DAY ON THE RED CARPET IN 2013!
All kids and their parents in the show are invited to share the excitement of Inauguration of our next president or the re-election of President Obama. See the fun here from 2009's Inauguration Red Carpet Party: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWKC-KTdHDE. Our backers get invites to the party as well and, donate big, and get a producer credit and flown in with a night's stay for the big day!

Of course! Just email director Ken Sheetz with a photo of your kid, their name, age (must be 8 to 12) and what city and state you are from. If we are going to be in your town and filming we will consider all kids.

We welcome kids of all political parties. Dems and Reps simply make up the majority of kids.

Kids Talk Politics is already airing on YouTube and will continue to through the elections. Each time we make the show we offer it to networks as a inauguration day special. In the past we've aired on PBS but at the very least the show will air on YouTube and on Amazon.
