We raise pastured poultry on clean grass and grain. Help us make that grain cleaner by switching to a certified Non GMO feed.

HELP OUR ANIMALS EAT CLEANER, AND KICK-START OUR WAY TOWARDS HEALTHIER FEED, HEALTHIER ANIMALS, AND HEALTHIER FOOD!

About us

I am Matt, and along with my wife Deanna and my daughter Gemma, we raise chickens, turkeys, and ducks. We use no chemicals, hormones, or antibiotics at any time. We grow all of our animals outdoors and give them plenty of room to roam around and express there individual personality's. Yes, contrary to the  what the industrial farming industry would like to you to believe, even livestock animals have brains and personality's as unique as humans. Our chickens love taking dust baths, our ducks love wallowing in the mud (we refer to them as pucks, for there very pig like behavior), and our turkeys love sleeping outside underneath the stars (a little like a turkey camping trip, with all their closest friends and family).

We farm on about 4 acres of leased land right now and are looking to purchase our own property in the near future.

Our goal as farmers is to grow enough meat and eggs to support our local community, at the same time create a sustainable farming operation and care for the land so we may grant it to future generations, cleaner and healthier than we received it.

 Our Mission

For thousands of years humans have raised healthy and fantastic tasting, free roaming poultry. Up until 1960, the standard poultry farm was picturesque in a way. Hundreds of chickens roaming about freely, most usually following behind a ruminant animal (cow, sheep, or goats) providing pasture sanitation, helping to keep the larger animals clean by eating all the bugs, and providing tasty, nutritious eggs and meat. All that was going to change.

Large corporations decided that the only way they could make money on poultry was to confine them, feed them animal waste (cow poop is considered protein in the chicken industry) , and after a couple months of malnourishment and disgraceful treatment, butcher these animals and throw them on the grocery store shelves as "fresh and clean" meat.

We want to change that.  We have been succesfully raising poultry on pasture now for two years and have proven that healthy and humanely raised, pastured poultry is not only a real possibility, but the way it should be done.

  The Problem

This year we have recently learned about a frightening new organism that is slowly creeping into America's Farmland, thanks to giant agribusiness corporations always looking to squeeze another dollar out of our planet. Genetically Modified Organisms, are farm crops such as corn, soy, alfalfa and many more staple crops that have been genetically altered to produce toxic herbicides to kill any competing weeds and harmful insects. Countless study's have proven the dangerous effects of these "super crops" on humans and animals alike. It really comes down to common sense. These GMO's are designed to kill other living organisms. Are human beings not living organisms? Why are we trusting a large corporation to tell us that they are safe? Why has almost every civilized nation in the world demanded that company's that use GMO's in there products, label them as such. Some nations have even gone as far as banning them all together.  Why are we being subjected to these dangerous chemicals day in and day out?

 The Project

The goal of our kickstarter project is to fund the purchase of a gravity wagon and enough clean non GMO grain to fill it. Our ultimate goal is to switch all of our animal feed to non GMO organic, but we can not do that without your help. Right now we are purchasing one ton of grain every 2 weeks and storing it in garbage cans to keep it clean and safe. With the purchase of a gravity wagon we could go ahead and purchase an economical amount of Non GMO, chemical and antibiotic free grain.

Our ultimate goal is to provide enough clean meat and eggs for all of our community. We want our community to completely forsake the mass produced food being shoved down their throats by the commercial "food" industry. We want everyone to have the opportunity to purchase all their food locally.  If we can help just one family eat organically, locally, and sustainably, then we have done our job.
