An eBook about magic, good and evil, and the power that comes from using the right words at the right time.

What: Wolfsbane is a Young Adult Fantasy novel – in eBook form! This is the story of Emmett and Morgan, a young man and the even younger woman he tries to protect, who become entangled in the latest battle of an ancient war between the forces of good and evil. Along the way, they meet strange new people and creatures, visit impossible places, and discover that sometimes nothing is more powerful than the right words at the right time.

Who: This is up to you and me, Dear Reader. A wonderful story with no one to read it is just as useless as a blank page in the hands of an avid reader. Only together can we create meaning from a jumble of letters!

Where: The novel is set in Kentucky, with a magic doorway allowing side trips to Montana, the City at the End of the World, and other fine vacation destinations.

When: As soon as possible! I wrote an initial treatment for this book last Fall, and the longer I’ve waited, the more excited I’ve been to sit down and make this thing a reality. A workable draft should be possible within a month of funding (I’m just as excited to write it as you are to read it!)

Why an eBook: Although I would love for this book to grace my bookshelves (and am taking steps to make that possible), eBooks are cheaper, easier and faster to distribute. Also, they require less care and feeding than regular books.

Why a Kickstarter: Being a writer was not a smart business move on my part. There’s long hours, next to no pay, and definitely no corporate-approved instruction manual. Having an initial idea may be free, but taking the time to flesh it out and finding consultants or professionals to edit, reformat and license it is most certainly NOT free. Also, I'd love to get an artist to make the cover, so I don't have to use my crappy Sharpie Wolf.

If you’re still on the fence, or generally want to learn more about this story, you can read the first chapter for free at my blog: http://idrewadillon.blogspot.com/2012/07/wolfsbane-chapter-1.html

Note – “Wolfsbane” is a tentative title, and is likely to change.

You get the PDF AND have a minor character named after you! Is having your name in a book not quite enough for you? Then why not actually appear as a character? (Note - "Minor" means appearing in no more than two chapters. Keep in mind that some characters are going to be jerks.)

Name the villain. Every story has a bad guy (or girl - gender is negotiable). Use your name, or the name of your most hated archenemy - either way, you are helping to define the diabolical element of the story. How cool is that?
