We are creating a sobering, uniquely edited, documentary film entitled “CHUTELESS” about a trio of aggressive, young seekers who will stop at nothing to make both profoundly frightening & terrifically enlightening discoveries about the depths of the human ego, the diverse & unpredictable USA, & what happens when we push ourselves to the limits & then hit the gas.
The three will strip themselves completely of creature comforts & any degree of stability on a 15 day mission from NYC to LA by way of hitchhiking, riding bikes & using any means necessary. This could mean hopping trains, riding beasts or hunting miracles. No money will be spent on hotel or accommodation (camping/hospitality only) nor will a single dime be spent on travel. The major time constraint is that the return, 1-way flights are already purchased from LA to NYC, so the three journeymen absolutely must make it in 15 days. Each day will have a specific theme & unfold as it’s own allegory, with provocative topics such as “blood & mischief” or “trusting luck & strangers.”
The blend of talents that each seeker will bring to the table are vast & quirky, like something out of an epic adventure film. Their quiver overflows with physical & mental tools that have helped them to influence young minds, create powerful art, & sell big ideas to dozens of the most recognizable brands on earth. The feature-length documentary will be shot w/ minimal, portable equipment & presented in a very fast-paced, candid and progressive style.
The money that we raise will be used for camera equipment, camping gear, survival items and only the most basic, no frills materials necessary to traverse the country. We have already garnered sponsorship from Dahon and been given three, fold-up bicycles that we will use along the way to help us navigate shorter distances to find potential rides and fascinating things/people to document.
