One Performance ...

Your participation will allow us secure the venue, launch an outreach campaign, and support the artists involved. Your generosity will allow "the show to go on!" 

Artists are the curators of dreams. They are the peace-makers, the educators, and the communicators of truth.

The creative arts and the educators who use them to teach are a vital vehicle for engaging youth and building the capacities required for peace. 

This summer for two weeks at the Seeds of Peace International Camp in Otisfield, Maine, artists and educators will convene for a unique educational experience in which they will share their stories, struggles, successes, and ideas. 

Artists and educators from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Israel, Palestine, Egypt, Jordan, Cyprus and US will share best practices, strengthen techniques and develop new skills and resources for educating and empowering youth through the expressive arts. They will learn from a diverse range of visiting faculty, staff, and one another, and will create an ongoing and growing network of educators and artists who are committed to using the expressive arts as a vehicle for empowerment, cross-­cultural understanding, and peace building.

Local songwriter, musician and co-creator of the Transcendence Project, Emilia Dahlin has traveled the world playing music. During her travels one notion was affirmed: art is a powerful tool for transformation and connection. The Transcendence Project was formed with the knowledge that music enables us to transcend our personal, cultural, and physical boundaries and offers the possibility for joy, peace and connection in a way that few other things can.

On August 5, for the first time ever, Transcendence Project and Seeds of Peace will join together in Portland, Maine, to organize a community concert. The evening will serve both as the culmination of the Seeds of Peace program for international educators and a collaborative community concert that gathers local artists, musicians, dancers with visiting artists for one night of creativity and fun.

This is a dream being realized, bridges being built and peace being made ... one dance, one spoken word, one song, one film, one performance at a time. Thank you for being a part of it. 

FUNDS THAT ARE RAISED ABOVE AND BEYOND OUR GOAL WILL SUPPORT ADDITIONAL SEEDS OF PEACE EDUCATOR PROGRAMMING AROUND THE GLOBE.
