Yeah, again, not to be a jerk about it, but the projected deliverable date was two months ago and updates have more or less dried up, too. I love everything I've seen, but can we get an update on how things are going at least?

Not to be a jerk about it, but we supported you here, I think we deserve to be updated here and not have to look elsewhere.
That said, I totally get that delivery times are estimated, frequently way off the mark, and that's OK as we are getting in on the ground floor as they say, and not buying a finished product off-the-shelf.

Hey Rodney - I hope you are getting the updates. We are working with a tiny budget, so production is a bit behind. We're very excited by the fantastic lighting and look-dev work happening under the art direction of Pablo Vazquez (venomgfx), and a bunch of great new artists are stepping into the lighting and environment pipeline. Render tests are looking super cool, and we are almost ready with a teaser we'll soon release; it will be the first real peek at the finished product of the movie. We try to cross-post big news on KS, but you can also follow the production at http://URCHN.ORG, and @tubeproject / @bkurdali on twitter. We'll keep everybody posted on developments!

Hey folks! Expect a big update soon.
Most of the kickstarter funds have gone towards animation: right now we have roughly 80% of our character animation finished, with some of the remaining shots in progress. With what remains of the budget we have to decide how to split this on the remainder of animation and lighting/rendering.
This past two weeks I've been working on lookdev and some management to get our project ready to render. Some exciting stuff has been happening there, our rendering plan looks radically different from what I thought it would be.
In Early November (Visa willing) I'll be making a short trip to Brazil for BlenderPro (a conference) where I'll give a presentation on Tube as well as a rigging workshop.
I'll probably post most of the update on the blog, but maybe include a few 'special' previews for the backers here :D

philippe, yes there is some data, not geographical I think, but in terms of referrals . I'll talk to fateh (the producer) about making a nice blog post about the campaign, sharing some of those graphs and data (of course, withholding any specific informations about the backers)

I'm not that familiar with how Kickstarter works. In the interests of trying to promote a last-minute rush, I found myself looking for a graph of how contributions have gone - an image of a sharply-upward trend of backers/ pledges might be a good way to elevate the buzz.. But without the relevant numbers, it's not possible to even mock up such a graph. (Maybe the trend is actually *downwards*, now? Simply can't tell.)
in Kickstarter terms, it would seem to me that the $50K target mentioned, err, someplace, is actually hampered by the fact that the project is (currently) "over"-funded by more than 50%...

I can run some task for free on my computers, so would be great if you can setup an instruction page on how this kind of distributed task processing can be approached (specifcally for your production).
Basically to create a network of processing nodes (initially available only to bakers).

If you are on the fence about backing this project, please support it. If you're thinking, "they reached their goal of $22 k they don't need more help", they DO still need your support. Most Kick Starter project goals are set very conservatively. An open movie, like Tube, can help so many other artists realize their dreams by providing the assets used in the production. So by helping The Tube, you are helping hundreds of others!
