Update #6: The Journey starts!!!!

Dear Backers, dear friends,
we really made it, unbelievable. We reached 60.911!!!!! There are not enough words, that can express our feelings right now!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!
The last 40 days we lived with the project day and night! Kickstarter and facebook were the first things, we checked in the morning and the last before we turned out the lights late at night.
Also it was exausting, it was very special to be connected this way to all you people out there!
After this busy time, we took a few days of from kickstarter and facebook. Family and friends needed some love and care! But we promise to keep you updated from now on!
So what is next? First amazone will charge your credit card! As soon as the money is transfered, we will start with the preparations for our trip to Jamaica. Gentleman will go to Jamaica in Dezember to record his new album and we will come along. We need to connect with all the other people, we want to meet, set a scedule for the different locations and protagonist, get toghether with Marcus, our cameramann and discuss our visions! After all this moneytalk, we are looking forward to dive in the themes of our film again and get the brain working!
Thank you so much again! Our journey is not over jet, it just started and we hope to see you along the way.
The best way to keep updated about the progress of the film, is to like us on facebook. Tell us, what is happening in you neighbourhood, tell us what troubles you and what brings you joy.
We want this film to go universal. Rasta and Reggae is just a microcosmos, that refelects the things, that each and everyone is thinking about. Where do I belong, what am I living and fighting for and what is it, I believe in? Be part of the Family!

wir haben es wirklich geschafft! 60.991 Dollar sind bei Kickstarter zusammengekommen. Unglaublich!!!! Es gibt nicht genug Worte um unsere Dankbarkeit und Freude zu beschreiben! Ich glaube das größte Dankeschön wird sein, wenn wir euch den fertigen Film zeigen können und wir wissen, dass er nur durch uns alle zustande gekommen ist!

Die letzten 40 Tage waren ausgefüllt mit "Journey to Jah". Die Pflege der Kickstarter Kampagne und unsere Facebook Seite wurden zu einer tagesfüllenden Aufgabe. Es war Morgens die allererste und spät abends die letzte Amtshandlung. Für zwei Menschen, die sich vorher Facebook verweigert hatten eine echte Herausforderung, extrem anstrengend und Nerven aufreibend. Auf der anderen Seite auch wunderbar, so mit euch allen verbunden gewesen zu sein!
Nach dieser wirklich turbulenten Zeit haben wir uns alle ein paar Tage Auszeit gegönnt! Unsere Freunde und Familie, die uns immer zur Seite standen, bekamen zur Abwechslung uneingeschränkte Aufmerksamkeit.
Wir sprechen aber, euch in Zukunft über den Fortgang des Projekts auf dem Laufenden zu halten.
Wie geht es weiter? Als erstes wird Amazon eure Kreditkarten belasten, falls das nicht schon passiert ist! Sobald das Geld bei uns auf dem Konto ist, geht es an die Vorbereitung für Jamaika. Gentleman fährt Ende Dezember nach Jamaika um seine neue Platte aufzunehmen und wir kommen mit! Jetzt heißt es die Leute kontaktieren, die wir noch treffen wollen, einen Zeitplan für Protagonisten und Drehorte erstellen und unsere inhaltlichen Schwerpunkte setzen. Mit Marcus, unserem Kameramann werden wir unsere Gedanken durchsprechen und das visuelle Konzept für den Dreh ausarbeiten. Nach der ganzen Finanzierungsarbeit freuen wir uns wieder thematisch in das Projekt einzusteigen und unsere Gehirne auf Touren zu bringen!
Vielen Dank euch alle! Unsere Reise hat gerade erst angefangen und wir hoffen, dass sich unsere Wege bald wieder kreuzen werden.
Auf Facebook läßt sich der Verlauf des Projektes am besten verfolgen. Erzählt uns von den Themen, die euch beschäftigen, was euch Freude bereitet und zum Nachdenken anregt, erzählt uns von Erlebnissen.
"Journey to Jah" soll ein universeller Film werden. Rasta und Reggae ist nur ein Mikrokosmos, in dem sich die großen Themen widerspiegeln: Wo gehör ich hin, wofür leben und kämpfen wir, woran glauben wir? Werdet Teil davon!

Dear Backers, dear friends and Reggae Lovers,
I write you from switerland, where I just took a walk with my family on a mountain river. Listening to the water, playing with the stones and taking a short, cold swim was so healing. Sometimes our life is such a rat race, as good old Bob described it! But there in the mountains, sitting by (and in) the river, I could let go of all the tension of the last days! Just when I tried my wet hair, Noel, my partner in the projekt called me. Someone had betted 2500 Dollars! Wow, suddendly things seemed possible again.
To be honest, the last days we were worried, if we could reach our goal in the few remaining days. But now we are confident again, not only because of the 2500, but also because there where often moments like on the river, were we feel so strong, why we want to do this film. We wish the film to capture moments like this, where we can step aside and watch at things from a different perspective, where we can connect to the important things.
We want to thank you all, all the backers, the new and old, the ones that even raised there pledges, but also all the people out there, that supported the project with ideas and links, who spreaded the film, where they could!
We hope, we wish, we know we can reach the 60.0000 Dollar, also it is still a long way to go!

Liebe Backers, liebe Freunde, liebe Reggae Lovers,
ich schreibe euch diese Zeilen aus der Schweiz, wo ich heute mit meiner Familie den Nachmittag an einem Fluss in den Bergen verbracht habe. Es hat so gut getan dem Wasser zuzuhören, mit Steinen zu spielen und kurz in das eiskalte Wasser einzutauchen. Wir rennen manchmal so gehetzt durch unser Leben, dass wir die wesentlichen Dinger vergessen. Aber dort am Fluss konnte ich die Anspannung der letzten Tage loslassen. Gerade als ich meine Harre trocknete rief Noel, mein Partner bei dem Projekt an: Jemand hatte 2500 Dollar gespendet! Wow, manchmal muss man einfah loslassen, damit die Dinge wieder fließen!
Um ehrlich zu sein; wir waren die letzten Tage unruhig und nicht mehr sicher, ob wir unser gesetzten Kickstarter Ziel erreichen! Doch wir haben unser Vertrauen wieder gefunden und das nicht nur wegen den 2500, sondern weil uns immer wieder in Gesprächen und Begegnungen bewußt wird, warum wir diesen Film machen möchten. Wir wünschen uns, dass der Film ganz viele solcher Momente, in denen die wirklich wichtigen Dinge zu Tage treten, wir einen Schritt zurücktreten können und die Dinge und unser Leben von einer anderen Perspektive betrachten.
Wir möchte euch allen danken, den neuen und den alten Backern, denen, die ihre Beiträge nochmals erhöht haben, aber auch allen anderen Menschen, die uns unterstützt haben, mit Ideen und Artikeln, mit Links und Konakten, mit allem was sie konnten!
Wir wünschen uns, wir hoffen, wir wissen, daß wir die 60.000 zusammenkriegen! Auch wenn es noch ein langer Weg ist!

Update #3: Half time for Journey to Jah
Dear Backers,
it´s halftime! 20 days behind and another 20 days ahead to make our documentarfilm"Journey to Jah" happen!
Two emotions arrise at this moment: On the one side we are very thankfull for all the support we recieved in the last weeks. We have 140 backers right now, compared with other projects that is really a lot.That and the great response we had on facebook and on other plattforms, showed us that people can associate themself with the film. We have allready over 12.000 likes of the trailer on kickstarter. The search for spirituality, for something to hold on in this fast turning and consumming orientated time is something, that not only our protagonists are searching for.Especially the young generation seems to seek for something more meaningful and after all, it was for us the tipping point to keep going with the project. The power behind Reggae and Rastafari, Gentlemans and Alborosies passion and their belief responded with our own needs. "Journey to Jah" is not a hymn to Reggae and Rastafari, but the call to dare to belief in something and keep on facing the confrontation this belief brings up. Rastafari is controversial and in the end the consolidation of the old and the new, that Rasta bears in itslef, is the only way to face the problems of our time.
To feel, that our visions are shared by many and the great feedback from many people strengthened us to succed.
On the other side there is a big disappointment. We realized after 20 days, that despite the great support, we reached not even a quarter of our goal. Right now we gathered 12.888 Dollar of the needed 60.000 Dollar. The last 20 days we spent most of our time to talk to people about the project, on the street, on the phone, on the radio. We spent hours after hours on Facebook and forums, we gave interviews to newspapers, we did just everything we could to spread the word about the project.
We thought in the beginning, that with Gentlemans 389.775 Facebook Fans and Alborosies 239.086 it would be easier. But these people are part of the young generation we just talked about. They have a great passion, but little money. Keeping that in mind, it is great to have recieved all that support but still right now we feel exausted!
We want to make this film happen, we put to much passion, time and love in it!We will not cast away the last six years, we wll fight the next 20 days! Fight with us!

He is the founder of Thought Engine | Media Group and his career in the motion picture, broadcasting, publishing, and Internet business spans over two decades and includes leadership in the American independent film industry.
Noël Dernesch (director & co-writer)
Born 1977 in Zürich, lives and works in Berlin. Educated at the "Schule für Kunst und Mediendesign" (School of Art and Media Design) in Zürich with a major in Film/Video, Noël Dernesch works as a freelance director and video artist. Along with various ad spots, among them international productions, he has created multiple short and documentary films. Many of his works have garnered special attention and distinction/ (Swiss Art Awards,Video-Film-Festival Hardau 2003,Young Talent 2005“, Kiefer Hablitzel Preis).
Moritz Springer (co-director & writer)
Born 1979 in Starnberg, lives and works in Berlin and Brandenburg.
After intial experiences in acting (Commercial and Film), Moritz Springer completed
multiple internships and directorial assistantships in Germany and the United States,
including „Die Wilden Kerle 3“ (Joachim Masannek) and „Godzilla“ (Roland Emmerich). Back in Germany, he began to create his own documentary films. In his work, Moritz
Springer seeks to explore themes, that break societal norms and open perspectives.
