The Wi-Fi Micro Mixer is an Arduino audio mixer that you control with your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Kindle Fire, or Android device. Anywhere you use a microphone or want to control several audio sources, perfect for:

The Micro Mixer weighs just 12 ounces and is small enough to fit in a briefcase or guitar case. No Wi-Fi available? No problem! The Micro Mixer creates its own Wi-Fi hot spot, or it can join any existing Wi-Fi network.
Unlike a conventional remote, the Micro Mixer operates via Wi-Fi and so does not rely on line of sight. You don't have to point it at anything or even be in the same room. There are no knobs or switches to wear out, no batteries to replace, and since there are no controls the on the actual device, the audio settings cannot be tampered with.

Micro Mixer Front Panel
The front panel has two combo XLR connectors that can accept Mic cables or standard guitar and TRS cables. The mic / guitar preamps are summed into stereo channels one and two. There are also four 3.5mm stereo inputs for MP3 players, iPods or PC audio. The green status LED is solid when connected to a Wi-Fi device and the amber indicates communication is taking place.
Micro Rear Panel
The rear panel has four typical phono stereo inputs, and one pair of stereo outputs. The mixer can be powered from a 9VDC adaptor or USB power through the micro USB jack. The Wi-Fi antenna is removable. It is possible to combine the left and right channels into one mono output for eight channel mono mixing projects. Just connect the stereo outputs to powered speakers and use your phone or tablet to set the background music level, make announcements, or switch audio sources like CD to DVD or MP3 player. The Wi-Fi Micro Mixer can manage up to eight audio channels, making it the smallest eight-channel mixer in the world!

Project Financing Details
We need to finance the first run manufacture of the product as well as marketing expenses. If we are successful in reaching our goal, we will donate the eight demo models we now have to local school music depts.
This product is the first of its kind and we have applied for a Trademark for the brand. A provisional patent has also been submitted to the USPTO. The PCB design is complete, and everything is ready to go for manufacturing the product.
Manufacturing will include PCB fabrication and assembly, followed by final testing and packaging for shipment, with UPC barcode. The packing solution is eco-friendly and does not include styrofoam packing materials.
There are eight completed demo models that will be sent to high tech reviewers as soon as the beta testing in completed.

The Micro Mixer is a custom Arduino-based PCB with audio processing circuits added for the eight channels of audio level and mute control. The microphone preamps have a fixed 22 dB of gain. The enclosure is extruded aluminum with slots for the PCB to slide in. This makes final assembly quick and easy. The rubber end caps provide a scuff free surface to protect furniture from scratches.
The eight demo models have excellent audio performance. THD+N is 0.003% and the maximum output level is +12 dBV Dynamic range is 105 dB. When the new boards are assembled, I believe we can make these numbers even better.
Original Proof of Concept
The original proof of concept was done about a year ago with an Arduino Duemilanove board and a Wi-Fi module. The new design has all these parts integrated into one printed circuit board. The firmware is Arduino with custom C++ classes for the audio control interface.
Yes, we are currently building fifty units that will be available on http://Amazon.com probably around mid July. We can not get the quantity pricing for parts so the price may be higher then we would like it to be. That is the primary reason for the Kickstarter project. Quantity parts purchasing reduces our cost of goods sold by quite a bit.
