Update #9: SHReD: Final Update Before Christmas!

Hello Lovely Backers, Just wanted to send you guys lots of love and warm Wishes from all Of us at "SHReD" for the holidays, and we hope you have A great time however you are spending them. Best wishes to all of you! We hope Santa is good to you! Thank you so much again for your generosity And support throughout this proccess. We have 6 days left to go in the campaign and we are In great shape. Thanks to all our generous and loyal backers, we have now Recouped close to what we had in the first campaign. There's still a few of you who Out there who haven't done it yet, so don't forget. Only six days left :) We need every penny We can get for our new editor extraordinaire who starts in February. We are very Excited to have Andres Landau on board with us! He has the passion and energy that we need To make this project as amazing as it can be. Update #7: SHReD Campaign - We're Already at the Halfway Point!

Hello Lovely Backers,

So I can't believe it, but we are already at the halfway point in the new campaign! Only 15 days left to re pledge. Although we have almost met our target goal of $8,000, we would love to re coop all of the original pledges so that we can get the best editor we can and cover their basic costs. That would be amazing!

We are in talks right now with editors and we have narrowed it down to a few very talented guys out of Toronto. As Mathias will be shooting Flashpoint in the new year for several months, it only seemed logical for us to find the best editor we could there. Just recently we have also been offered some fantastic resources from some generous peeps in the form of post production sound and colouring, which will really help us move into the final stages after editing where we can really finesse things film festival style :)

I continue to be so grateful to all of you for the support you have shown me, and I am going to make sure to keep all my pledgers updated with every development along the way. Right up to the point of all us watching our movie in festivals, since this is now as much your project as it is mine :)

So if you haven't already done so, please please don't wait till it's too late. Re pledge as soon as you can, before time runs out. Every penny is so important to us and will make such a difference to the final result up there on the silver screen!

Update #6: SHReD Update Campaign Relaunch

Hello Awesome Backers,

So we are now 8 days into the Re Launch for the new 30 day campaign and have already raised just over $3500! So Thank you so much to those of you who have re pledged and shown your continued support!

I just wanted to address a very valid question that a couple of you have asked me with regards to the re launch. The question was... Why had we originally needed $100,000 to complete the movie and now we only need $8,000?" Just in case there are others amongst you who are wondering the same thing, I quickly wanted to explain...

We were originally trying to raise $100,000 for the post production (This would be for editing, music rights and composition, sound clean up and mix, rights and aquisitions, noise clean up, and colour timing, and lastly festival entry fees and promotions. We also factored in all of the gifts and incentives, shipping and handling as well as the Amazon 5% and the Kickstarter 5%.

When the first campaign ended we had managed to raise almost $11,000, which of course we wouldn't see any of because Kickstarter is all or nothing. Kickstarter then advised us to relaunch at a lower goal so that we could gain access to the $11,000 by getting all of our backers to re pledge. The reason we decided to set the new goal at $8,000 was so we had a safety buffer in case all of our backers did not re pledge. We didn't want to risk not meeting our goal a second time.

The $11,000 would enable us to complete cutting the film as we would put the money towards an editor. Since the first campaign we have had amazing feedback from a number of people who have offered resources as a pose to money ie/ distribution, post production resources etc. So we may not have reached our goal of the $100,000 but we can complete the movie by tapping into the resources we have been offered instead. We have many people who have vowed that they will not stop until they have helped us finish this project and get it to Sundance!

I hope this answers the question for anyone who was wondering, and if any of you need more info please let me know. I'm very happy to share everything with you guys. It is after all your project too!
