It's been a while since I've given you guys and update so I thought I'd share this clip from tracking electric guitars last night. My friend Tim Dillon did a great job on these tracks and we are getting close to completion. Last Wednesday we tracked guitars! Truly an anticipated event for me. I'm kind of a fan of guitar. Sometimes even a student of guitar! Some give me the privilege of teaching them guitar. Anyway, this is a process that brings a lot of shape to the album. We tracked the foundation of the album in July...drums and bass. But there is so much space on the tracks before anything else is added and then guitar...it sounds so awesome. It would probably surprise some of you but this is an area where I have deferred. Though I will probably add some parts of my own the majority of the guitars on this album will be played by Jordan Bledsoe (Electric) and Chris Clayton (Acoustic). They are in the studio all the time and bring so much to these tracks. If my ego got in the way we would have a lesser album. They have both done an awesome job and Wednesday night ended with a lot of shape and style. Amazing tone and great use of effects. Another benefit to having someone else track is you get to see guitars you don't own in action and decide how you feel about them. I heard great tones from Gretsch and Gibson and am a huge fan of the Les Paul Jr now. Though I want to share audio I will wait till we have it completed. All I can say is things are progressing wonderfully and in a couple more months we'll have the final product to share. Thanks again for making this possible. You guys are awesome and every time I walk into a studio or receive tracks that Chris C. has worked on I'm reminded of your support and generosity. Thank you again and enjoy the pics!
