Following a series of documentary photography classes in Oaxaca, MX, world-renowned artist Mary Ellen Mark is teaming up with filmmaker Martin Bell to produce a dual workshop in documentary photography and filmmaking.

After attending two consecutive Oaxaca workshops and building a close mentorship with Mary Ellen, I would love nothing more than to travel to the city of Reykjavik, Iceland for this extraordinary opportunity. The workshop will take place this summer, from June 22-August 9, and I'm enlisting your help in getting me there!

Here's a little about what I will do in Iceland:

1. Conceptualize and create a documentary film on one of the following topics: music festivals, ocean fisherman, a summer camp for disabled children, the Icaland gay parade, swimming pools in Reykjavik, workers in a geothermal plant, a fish factory, a magnesium factory, the Blue Lagoon volcanic spa, or Iclandic horses.

2. Meet with Mary Ellen Mark and Martin Bell each morning for an individual critique of her previous day's work

3. Attend lectures, discussions, and exhibitions every night as part of the workshop group. 

4. Screen the completed film during a final critique on the last night in Iceland and receive feedback from the group

5. Send the work off to film festivals around the world!
