We are a small team of writers and artists who want to share our girls with the world! We are seeking help to produce our first issue! Comics traditionally have very fit, thin and chiseled superheroes and we wanted to show the world that superheroes don't have to be skinny! By introducing Sweet Pea, Sage, Candy and Rosie, we know that girls and women everywhere who struggle with their weight and body image will find themselves in the Chunky Girls. Our Girls have the daily struggles of being overweight in America, but that doesn't stop them from tackling the world of fashion, movies, music and television!   • Who does your artwork?
    Our art is done by an amazingly creative guy by the name of Grant Miller. Check him out at www.thickstyle.com and his project on Kickstarter is called the Stelliform Owl. I, Marisa, am the creator of the story and concept and my husband, Jose, is our creative consultant and co-founder. :-)

  • What will your funding be used for?
    If we are fully funded, your generous gifts will go to the printing and publishing of our first issue! Expenses include compensation to our lead artist, printing costs and shipping costs. We are exhibiting at a comic convention in May and by having this project successfully funded, we will take the Con by storm. :-)
