Science develops the technology to customize the human mind; Artemis Parker, a brilliant teenage fugitive, has a problem with that.
Enter The World Of The Vigilante

___
If technology comes from the mind, is it unnatural to use it to improve the mind?
Imagine a world with neuro-plastic surgery: you have the ability to customize your mind, so what would you like to change? Nail biting, procrastination, even psychosis – doctors can map out your mind, locate the source of any problem, and correct it.
It’s just become an affordable procedure, decide for yourself, will you embrace a natural identity or surpass your human limitations; as long as you’re not a ward of the state, the choice is yours.

Plot
“The Vigilante” is a film about Artemis, a brilliant teenager who loses his parents and winds up in state custody. While the other orphans eagerly await their corrections, hoping for a better future, Artemis doesn’t want one. With no other option he’s forced to escape, and must accept a life on the run.
Artemis encounters the notorious John Hardin (reformed serial killer) as he's assaulted by an angry group. After they get away, John relates to the 16-year-old as on outsider and wonders if he sees his former self in the boy. He struggles whether he should report the young fugitive, but John can't begin to imagine what Artemis is planning.
Making Our 30-Minute Movie

___
With a special thanks to Bravo Studios, we've had 8-days of production devoted to scenes within scenes, shooting infomercials, advertisements, and news reports. Two-thirds of our cast is locked, and thanks to Stonestreet Studios have just held over a hundred auditions to fill our remaining roles. The wonderfully talented Jillian Iscaro is finalizing the storyboards and working alongside our visual effects team to plan out every shot before the camera rolls. Our art department has been hard at work building props and set dressings but to go any further we need to rent out storage space so they can keep working.

--- Our final production is fast approaching, and at this stage the biggest thing in our way is budget ---
We Need Your Help!
During our main production the cost of renting and insuring high quality camera, lighting, and sound equipment will be substantial. We will need to reserve a variety of locations that we can’t get for free and pay for all the necessary NY City permits and we also need to feed a cast and crew of 40 people twice a day for two weeks, and pay for parking, transportation and gas.

___
Our VFX Supervisor Brian Magarian is a pro at delivering breath taking visual effects on a budget, sought out by studios including HBO and corporate clients like Sketchers. Our producers Max Guen, Nicholas Hammond, and Adi Gupta, along with Jules Hamilton, have produced a number of large scale short films including Stealing Suburbia, a $70,000 short film about the life of teenaged bandit Malcolm Thomas Moore, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2011.
Why Support Our Short Film?

Rewards: Become a Part of "The Vigilante"
We will make sure to deliver our Kickstarter rewards as soon as we possibly can. Unfortunately we can't make the HD Download of the film available until it has run its course through the festival circuit (because we could disqualify ourselves from a number of festivals).
For any questions or concerns regarding our Kickstarter campaign or rewards, please contact us through our Kickstarter page and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We will be shooting on the RED One and on the RED Epic.
RED digital cinema cameras capture moving images at an incredible level of detail, previously only attainable with the expensive process of shooting on film. This high quality footage is critical to building the imagery and effects that will make the world of the Vigilante immersive. The high sensitivity and wide latitude of the RED's sensor will allow us to light locations in less time and with greater flexibility than any other option. RED cameras are designed to work with a large array of the finest lenses and accessories, which allows us to customize our equipment to perfectly compliment the tone of the story. The work of the countless talented artists and technicians behind The Vigilante deserves to be recorded in one of the best formats available today which is why we're exited to shoot The Vigilante on a RED.
