Chicago does not have a live Rocky Horror company. Until now.

From October 20th to early morning on Halloween, Underscore Theatre Company is thrilled to present a re-imagined benefit production of The Rocky Horror Show that embraces the show's underground roots and deep love of science fiction movies. This production is the first in what we believe will be Chicago's newest annual Halloween tradition.

Our Rocky imagines the musical taking place as Brad and Janet fall asleep in a classic movie theater and together enter a strange, phantasmagorical world that combines the elements of the theater with the stars and creatures they have seen in the previews of their movie. The music, orchestrated by David Kornfeld, introduces a wider variety of musical styles from gospel and soul to reggae and ska into Rocky's classic songs, including "Hot Patootie," "Dammit, Janet," and "Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch Me."

Note bene: The Underground Lounge, our venue, is a bar. Unfortunately that means that everyone attending must be 21+. The good news is that drinks are VERY easy to attain!

The original Rocky Horror was performed in a non-traditional theatre space without the separating effect of a proscenium or a "fourth wall." We're bringing our production back to these roots by performing in a bar: The Underground Lounge at 952 West Newport Avenue, Chicago IL, 60657. Performances include an interactive pre-show that begins at show time.*

Thursday, October 20th at 8pm

Friday, October 21st at 8pm

Saturday, October 22nd at midnight

Thursday, October 27th at 8pm

Friday, October 28th at 8pm

Saturday, October 29th at midnight

Sunday, October 30th, with a special Halloween party, at midnight (technically the 31st!)

And this Kickstarter is the only (read that again: the ONLY) way to order your tickets in advance. Tickets are a suggested donation of $18-25, and as you'll see, they are included in our incentives list.

If you're from out of town or can't make the show for whatever reason, we would still love your help! We're a new company and we have to pay for rights to the show, rehearsal space, our venue, sets, lights, costumes, band, advertising...pretty much everything. Any amount, no matter how small (or generous), will be enormously helpful toward making Rocky the spectacular time we know it can be. We'll even thank you in our program and on our website!

So rose-tint our world. Right now we dream it. Help us be it.

*In consideration of your time and because we would like all of our audience to experience the pre-show, we have decided to move the pre-show back to 8pm (or 12pm, given the show). You can ignore the "7pm" listed in the rewards. We want to save you some of that rush-hour traffic.
