We are trying to raise $2,500 for an art project called the Trade Parade.

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
1. Money is always our biggest issue. The artists involved have to take time off from work, pay for their own flights and housing. The size and scope is in direct correlation to the amount of money we raise. If we do go over our goal, this project will be that much better. We keep our minds focused on the end result, and our history backs this up.
2. This would be our 3rd international project, and 10th outside of New York City. The logistics of organizing a large group of artists is daunting but we always overcome by concentrating on the creative side. Our two previous films even document the problems when they do arise, but we channel the solutions so that other artists who follow can see that, through it all, the artistic goal can be reached.
3. Coordinating with people far away from us is always a challenge. Regardless of how much money we raise, problems that arise thousands of miles away are difficult to cope with. But in the end we will build a new bridge for all artists involved, and it’s a learning experience for the next project we take on.

The Dolls Of Lisbon (DVD signed) The Dolls of Lisbon portrays a collective of international artists who were each given a blank canvas doll and asked to create a unique piece of art, the culmination of which was then displayed at an annual art fair in Lisbon, Portugal. The larger story – a story almost every artist knows well – is the struggle to create art while surviving in a monetarily based world. Through interviews and live art events, the viewer experiences the frustration of artists to maintain their creative inspiration and passion while keeping a roof over their head and food on their plate. In a world of art commercialization and fiscal greed, these artists literally bleed their art to do what they love.

Barstool Prophets (book signed) Barstool Prophets is a rowdy, raw, honest, sad and funny memoir of true events. The story follows the lives of a wild spectrum of characters, narrated by a young writer working in a bar in New York’s East Village. Barstool Prophets chronicles this iconic neighborhood over a period of 20 years, from its seedy early 1990s to its recent gentrification into a Manhattan hot spot. From the love-addled bartender to the suicidal doorman to the junkies in Tompkins Square Park, all are family, with the accompanying joys and dysfunctions.

Rich Boy Cries For Momma (book signed copy) Set in Washington, D.C. during the turbulent 1980s, Rich Boy Cries for Momma is a coming of age novel told from the perspective of the good son turned teenage punk rocker. While the “nice” kids of the Washington elite bully and reject him because of his dyslexia, the punk rock scene accepts him as he is. This fast-paced novel pulls us into the protagonist’s dangerous and erratic new world, filled with violence and drugs, while remaining funny and heartwarming. A disparate cast of characters—the rich, powerful, and successful, to the beaten, broken, and besmirched—become entangled in the punk rock subculture. We follow alongside our somewhere-in-between narrator as he wades through his learning disability, and navigates relationships that sometimes betray his perceptions, sometimes break his heart, and sometimes save his life. Rich Boy Cries for Momma features ink and paper drawings that capture the essence of D.C. during the 1980s. The book also contains the lyrics of more than two dozen songs of the hard-core punk rock bands of that era.

Come up with a theme for an issue. Note: it will be on the cover but that doesn't mean the writers will write on the subject. They take the theme and do what they like. We really have no control of them.
