The Advantage made the music + proGrammar (that's me) wrote the lyrics. I'm finally ready to start recording (over the month of August) our 3rd album (tentatively titled "Harde Wones") as the kooky, klever and katchy nerd-core chip-tune mash-up project Advantage: proGrammar!

I'm happily everything (in addition to lyricist / singer / rapper ) from recording engineer to cover album artist to webmaster in service of this project, but there's three jobs crucial to making our albums that I can't do: mix, master and produce physical CDs. That's where you come in!

The album mix engineer charges $100 / song and there are 12 songs on this album = $1200. The mix engineer lives in Sacramento, which will cost me about $200 to get to and back from. The mastering engineer charges $10 / minute (those of you in the know know how reasonable this is!) and the album is ~ 30 minutes = $300 (luckily, he lives in Portland, like me.) CDs will cost around $200 for me to make and I'll probably spend about $99 to ship them to you all. For a grand total of $1999.

In years past, I would have just put the above sum on a credit card and hoped to pay it off over the looong term by selling my songs online one at a time, but it's a new day and I'm a new human and there's this Kickstarter thing, so I figured it would be smarter to sell what records I could ahead of time as a way of funding this labor of love!
