Kickstarter

Masala is raising funds to bring good quality Indian food to Missoula.  Money raised through kickstarter, will go towards the purchase of a mobile food cart.  With the mobility of a food cart, Masala will be reaching Missoula communities that have little or no food and restaurant options.  

As an outdoor spring, summer and early fall operation, Masala's menu will change with the seasons.  Whatever is freshly popping out of the ground, Masala will be turning into authentic Indian curries, chutneys and pickles.   Masala will be buying whole animals from local ranchers.  Most of the animal will be fantastic in the long slow cooking of curries served daily, the remaining tender cuts from tenderloins to sirloins will be seasoned and skewered, to be grilled to order with naan bread and fresh chutneys.  

In the spirit of traditional street food and native practice of using every part of the animal, offals will be offered grilled and seasoned to promote the underappreciated flavors and textures that don't make it to most American tables.  

Two maps on the food cart will show the origins of the days offerings to customers.  A map of India will show the dish's origin and a map of Montana will show the name and location of the local ingredients used on the menu.  

When I started Iza asian restaurant, it was to expand Missoula's lack of ethnic food options.  With Masala, I hope to continue.  With your support, we can have fresh, vibrant, spicy foods, made with care and attention for the price of a burrito, pizza or burger.
