A man stalks his dog's former owners using all of his knowledge of TV cop shows.
The Dog House is based on a short story of the same name written by Josh Gross, recently published in a book of short stories called Secrets and Lies.
The Dog House is about a guy named Owen who gives in to the insistence of his girlfriend, Emma, and adopts a dog from the pound. After falling in love with the dog, named Elvis, he tries to discover why in the world anyone would ever give up an animal he considers worthy of royal reverence. Using everything he’s ever seen on TV cop shows, Owen sets out to confront the dog’s former owners and tell ‘em what for. In the end, Owen learns more about himself than those he set out to track down.
This project is a Boston University senior thesis film. We're all very excited to be working on this film AND to be working with all of the awesome dogs we've recruited for the shoot. In order to make this the best film we can, we just need a little bit of help to cover costs like location fees and insurance, transportation, wardrobe, animal safety precautions, food, and other miscellaneous film costs.
