Kickstarter

This is a difficult story to revisit despite the amount of time elapsed. I am prompted to attempt self-publishing through Kickstarter funding simply because of the resounding response I received from the few people I had allowed to read it shortly after the events described in the book. They allowed others to read it, as did they, and so on. I was briefly inundated with messages by many of them, expressing the emotion this book evoked and the inspiration it ignited for either their own situation or that of someone they asked to read it. Though the opportunity to publish the manuscript through a semi-large publisher had presented itself over 5 years ago, it was simply too difficult to commence at that time. Enter 2012, enough time has passed and I believe the manuscript deserves another shot. But, I need your help to get the plane off the runway.

This book is unique in that it contains a large number of quotes from known and respected figures whose words directly correlate to the specific content where they are cited. There is also scattered dialog between two characteristic based antagonists who represent the workings of a 'Moonshine Mind.' At 135 pages, this is a fairly short read for quick readers.

Past: This book was written in 2006. The book was originally written for therapeutic reasons. The manuscript found its way into the hands of a Seattle based literary agent who contacted me with interest in contracting the book for immediate publishing. As this story embodies such a devastating and personal period of my life, I later declined the book deal and tucked this away for several years. It remained until recently when cleaning some data off the computer. Perhaps there can be some fulfillment in putting it out in the world to possibly provoke others on the same road to stray from such malady.

Present: I currently own a monthly magazine and oversee its entire operation and publishing. I would like to think this gives me some expertise in the realm of self-book publishing, or at least on the process of accomplishing it.

Future: The amount I have put up for a funding goal is sufficient enough to cover the printing of several thousand copies of the book, which is a great start to getting it out. Due to my line of work, I am acquainted with a number of printing houses capable of doing a great job on the final binding. Putting all of this together may in some way, help rectify the loss I've caused others and endured myself. Thank you all for your kind support.
