What's it about?

For Patrick is the story of a young married couple caught in the midst of a global pandemic. They venture off on their own to survive, but choices and sacrifices are made that affect their survival and their relationship.

Who is involved?

Written and produced by (me) Jessica Martin, I wanted to showcase the talents and natural beauty of my home: the Puget Sound. I have worked in regional theater, national commercials, voice over, and independent film regularly since graduating the University of Washington. Producing is something I save for special projects, and this is one of them. Why? I wanted to work with these people:

SHEP Films- Zeek Earl and Chris Caldwell. We did a little project last year called In the Pines and it world premiered at SXSW. They are some serious talent and I wanted to work with them again before they get huge.

Daniel Caldwell- Daniel also worked on In the Pines and is an amazing composer and musician. Often music is overlooked in short films, but Daniel makes it a centerpiece.

Aaron Blakely- A dear friend of mine and wonderful actor. He's fun to play with an always BRINGS IT to the set or stage. (Fun fact: He was the Willoughby to my Marianne in Sense and Sensibility. Aww)

What are the plans for this film?

For Patrick is going to be distributed ONLINE FOR FREE on the official website. That's right. Free for everyone to see, because that is why I do what I do: to inspire you. This is my story to give and I want anyone that wants to see it to be able to.

What is the current status of the film?

We have already shot the film and now it is in the able hands at SHEP to edit. Daniel will then come in and create the score, sound will be mixed, color corrected, a few more tweaks, and BAM, we'll have a movie. Tentative release online for April 2012.

Where is my money going?

GOOD QUESTION. Your money will be going to PEOPLE. Shep and all the folks working on the post production, and me to recoup the money I have already spent on the pre and production stages (permits, lodging, meals, transportation, props, makeup, etc.) And the $$ will help the web hosting of the film. No silly festival fees on this one!
