This film is about my journey, from conception to birth, in a situation I had never expected could happen to me. I was both blessed and cursed during my experience, because I did not fully understand how important my support system was. As a woman, I experienced the full range of emotions that a person could have - and I emerged an evolved being. Yet, had I been educated from my own conception about the natural childbearing experience, perhaps I could have known how to better navigate my daughter's own experience. Now, by telling my story, other parents can give their unborn children a chance - by choosing the healthiest path for them.
I tell "Giving Life" through comedy, sketches (both literal and figurative), and artistry, but the interviews and statistics give it the traditional "documentary" feel without being too intrusive. I attempt to illustrate what I felt, so you may also feel it with the same intensity, and challenge yourself to change your mind - and really work at always keeping it changed. And if nothing else, I am not what you expect, so that you may have a refreshing experience.
If this Kickstarter campaign is any indication, my best self is put forward at all costs, and "Giving Life" will make you want to do the same for your self. This documentary will make you laugh, cry, and think...and who doesn't need that in their life? If for nothing other than the pure experience of this film, please afford yourself the opportunity to contribute in some way or another.
I will campaign this film to everyone I know, in the least invasive way I can afford. Via social networking and pure kinetic human energy, I plan to have the utmost faith that my project is successful, never compromising it for a second, as I check off every recommendation on Kickstarter's list. I will continue to evolve, and continue to inspire... even if that is the mere point of this campaign. And finally, I will pay it back, as my backers have paid it forward: with GRATITUDE.

For this film, I am choosing to give a narrative/storytelling feel, infused with interviews. So, in the tradition of "all things documentary," I am choosing to look in the monitor or off to the side at certain times (in this case, for my Kickstarter video).

The reason I used the "James Cameron" example in the video, was to merely illustrate the necessity of certain tools for certain artists. Had he not used the type of software he waited to have developed, "Avatar" would certainly not have been the film it is as we understand it and love. Likewise, I could use other tools to paint my masterpiece, per se, but I have researched a specific set of tools that I know will make "Giving Life" a masterpiece.
