New lineup, new sound, new album– a new chapter for "new acoustic folk" string-band Annalivia.
Annalivia is a folk-fusion string-band from the Boston area with strong backgrounds in traditional Celtic and American musical styles. The band has been in business for a few years and has recently undergone a lineup change, with talented fiddler Mariel Vandersteel joining the now 4-piece band. We are revamping our sound, bringing it back home to our American roots, while still allowing our multitude of influences to be present. Each band member brings impeccable musicianship, thorough training in his/her instrument, stellar arranging abilities, and overall stylistic versatility. This project will be our third album to date, and will consist of original songs and tunes as well as traditional material. Twin fiddles, driving guitar, flat–picking, mandolin, and textured vocals are what can be expected– with some surprise guest artists in the mix. The album will be produced by fiddler/singer extraordinaire Jake Armerding, and recorded by Matt Malikowski at Dimension Sound Studios in Jamaica Plain, MA.
Even though we have set the goal at $4,000, we actually need at least $8500 to make this album. The $8500 will cover studio time, mixing and mastering, graphic design, manufacturing and duplication costs, posters, and producer and guest artist fees. It won't cover radio publicity which is a significant cost, especially since we are planning an aggressive radio publicity campaign both nationally and internationally. The $4,000 will help us on our way, however we really need to exceed our goal in order to meet our expenses.
When you pledge, you get to pick an amount and a reward bracket. Please take the time to peruse the rewards on your right– there are a lot of fun offerings and something for everybody's budget. If we don't reach our goal, your credit cards will not be charged and no rewards will be sent out and the album might not get made– we wouldn't want that to happen! So let's work together and spread the word– every little bit counts.
This is an exciting year for us, and we have big plans in the works for this band, including national and international tours and eventually management and a label.
Thank you so much for helping us to keep music at the forefront in our communities and our lives, and for your support of our project. Here's to taking folk music to the next level!
