Argania is a gourmet cooperative that sells culinary argan oil and premium Moroccan spreads, with a mission of returning as much as possible back to producers.

Argan oil is made from the fruit of argan trees, found only in Southwestern Morocco. It has been praised for both its health benefits (rich in Vitamin E, anti-oxidants, fatty acids), as well as its rich, nutty flavor. Our traditional Moroccan spreads, also known as Amlous, are hand-made using roasted nuts, raw clover honey, and 100% organic argan oil. We currently make 3 types of amlou: Peanut Amlou, Almond Amlou, & Chocolate Hazelnut Amlou (which uses dark courveture chocolate from Belgium).

Why We Need Your Support

While argan oil and amlou are enjoyed regularly in Morocco, the rest of the world has yet to be properly introduced to them. We believe we have all the pieces in place to make this happen: ethical management, an executive chef, great graphic designers, and strong local partnerships with our producers and their communities. In order for us to scale, however, we need the proper machinery to be able to produce the amlous in larger quantities.

Specifically we need a 20-lb. capacity roasting machine (approx. $1600), a nut sheller (approx. $1900), and a 30-quart food processor (approx. $4000). Any extra funds we raise will be used to invest in a larger commercial kitchen and into purchasing more nuts, honey, oil, and chocolate.

Plant A Tree: Support the local argan forests and plant a tree – you’ll get a photo of your planted tree in early January.

Toasted Almond Amlou (12 oz): This amlou marries savory argan oil, raw clover honey, and toasted almonds to create a classic, Moroccan spread that is sweet and nutritious.

Chocolate Hazelnut Amlou (12 oz): A twist on a traditional recipe, this amlou combines Belgian courveture chocolate, roasted hazelnuts, argan oil, and clover honey to create a rich, delectable spread. 

Roasted Peanut Amlou (12 oz): Blending pure organic argan oil, oven-roasted peanuts, and raw clover honey, this amlou is a perfect blend of savory and sweet Moroccan flavors. 

Organic Culinary Argan Oil (7 oz): A heart-healthy delicacy, our premium culinary argan oil is made from roasted argan kernels in Morocco. Its distinctive nutty flavor enhances any dish, dip, or dressing. 

How To Enjoy Our Products

Now we're sure everyone can't wait to try out our products, but in the meantime you can daydream about the many ways you'll be able to enjoy our 100% organic argan oil and traditional amlous.  

Our Pure Argan Oil can be used in a multitude of ways. Try it as a simple dipping oil with breads, cook with it, use it as a marinade for meats, or add it as your secret ingredient for any sort of dressing or dip (amazing on salads). The possibilities are endless.

Just how do you amlou? Amlou is essentially a premium dip and spread that tastes great with all sorts of foods. Definitely try it out with breads, cookies, crackers, fruits, vegetables and any other pairing you can think of! Our personal favorite is the Chocolate Hazelnut Amlou with Pretzels (om nom nom nom).
