FUNDING THE ARTS

Update #28 · Apr 17, 2012 · comment

We thought this would be a great interview clip to share on National Arts Advocacy Day - our writer/director, Dustin Morrow, speaking about the importance of funding arts programs. This was one of his inspirations in writing this script.

IT'S ARTS ADVOCACY DAY!

Update #27 · Apr 17, 2012 · comment

Today is the day that artists and arts advocates from all across the U.S. tell the government how important it is to celebrate and support the Arts!

This is why we made this film - to tell a story about why the arts MATTER.  Our writer/director wrote this film out of a frustration with a lack of funding and support for arts programs that NEED to be supported, like music education and music therapy programs for children.

THE RECOVERY OF GABRIELLE GIFFORDS

Update #25 · Apr 15, 2012 · comment

An amazing story of the capacity of music to heal has emerged in recent months.  Gabrielle Giffords, the Arizona congresswoman who survived an assassination attempt on January 8, 2011, has found music therapy emerging as a key component of her long recovery process.

Diane Sawyer and ABC News did a terrific story on the use of music therapy in Giffords's recovery, and it's an eye-opening and moving piece.

The story has been uploaded to YouTube, and can be viewed in three parts here:
