About this project

It's time for Judgement Day album 3! Throughout our career we've done a ton of experimentation with amplifying violin and cello and matching them to brutal, heavy drums. For our third record, we're throwing that all out the window and taking string metal back to its roots: acoustic violin and cello, and bucket percussion. You may have seen our "bucket kit" by now. We've been using it on a few songs at all of our shows lately and for all of our "sneak attack" street performances. It's a really cool set-up with mega-potential for unique awesomeness.

One of the most important parts about making a great acoustic record, especially with sweet-sounding instruments like violin and cello, is finding the perfect room to capture the sound and feel. We have found that room. There's a barn on the coast of California, about three hours north of San Francisco that Lewis and I have been going to since we were kids. It's made of all wood with slanted ceilings and has only a fireplace for heating. We're gonna go up there for a week, build a studio and make the whole album. Riki Feldmann who recorded our last album "Peacocks / Pink Monsters" will be on board again as engineer. He'll also be taking sweet photos which will go in the album booklet. Our goal is to make an acoustic record that is as heavy and rocking as any electric record.

You can help us and be a part of this album by pledging funds and pre-ordering. Your money goes to renting the barn, buying food, buying a couple of sweet new percussion instruments and paying Riki ('cause he's awesome and he deserves it!)

Thank you for your support!
-Anton

Judgement Day

Has not connected their Facebook account.

Brothers Anton and Lewis Patzner of Judgement Day have been bringing their unique, high-energy brand of “string metal” to eclectic audiences for over half a decade. Their innovative style and shredding chops on violin and cello have earned them US and European tours with buzz bands like Mates of State and dredg and guest spots on the albums of heavy-weights from Bright Eyes to Slash. Add to the line-up the heavy-hitting, double-kick-pedaling drummer Jon Bush and you’ve got a highly unique concoction that TheBayBridged.com calls “a distinctly progressive, experimental take on the guitar-less metal band, taking full advantage of the strengths of the strings while pushing the sound in unexpected directions.”
