I am heading to the Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica in May to volunteer for 2 weeks and will be filming a documentary while I work!

MISSION: SLOTHVILLE

Hi everyone!  Thanks so much for visiting!  I really hope that what I'm doing touches you in some way and that you can help me.

I am traveling to The Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica from May 6-20 this year to volunteer.  I'll be working 12 of the 14 days I am there from 6am-3pm and will be doing an assortment of duties ranging from feeding, cleaning, and caring for sloths of all ages to maintaining the Sanctuary grounds to helping out with administrative duties.

During my stay, I will be wearing either by a head strap or helmet, a GoPro Hero 2 head-cam.  This camera will be turned on and filming all day, every day (excluding my "private time") and with the footage I capture, I intend to create a documentary about my adventure, the Sanctuar, and most importantly, the sloths!  Being able to film this much footage will require extra battery packs, memory cards, and perhaps even a portbale charger (one that I can wear). 

I am asking for pledges to purchase this camera and all accessories so that this documentary can be possible.  With this documentary I intend to raise awareness of the Sanctuary's existence, to share the glory of the sloths, and to convince people to help the Sanctuary to Help The Sloths!

I am also hoping to buy donateables for the Sanctuary. They welcome donations ranging from office supplies, to household items, and everything in between. Whatever money is leftover from the camera and accessories will go to the purchase of items off the Sanctuary's wish list.

And, if money is leftover from the camera, accessories, and donateable items, I will put the money towards the purchase of couple of items of UV-Protective clothing.  I have a sun allergy called Polymorphous Light Eruption and break out in a rash and red scales that itch terribly if I am not protected.  The sun of Costa Rica is far stronger than that in Wisconsin, and to avoid some nasty reactions, I will wear SPF 80 sunblock as well as the protective clothing.
