The 2011 Fair Trade Collection from SET Boutique proves that fashion can be ethical, and fair trade can be stylish.
Why You'll Love SET Boutique SET Boutique retails clothing and accessories that are made ethically, with no ties to worker exploitation or sweatshops. I invite you to learn more about the Support Ethical Trade philosophy by visiting the About page. And click here for an article on the story behind SET Boutique. Why You'll Love the Fair Trade Collection I launched SET Boutique in June 2010 and the majority of products are purchased from fair trade wholesalers. I am now ready to design exclusive SET Boutique branded clothing and accessories. I traveled to Nepal in November 2010 to meet with three extraordinary fair trade vendors that produce sweaters, woven womens wear, and bags. In addition to providing generous pay and benefits, each vendor offers eco-friendly options such as organic cotton, bamboo fabric, and natural sweater yarns that are free of dyes.
The collection includes woven tops, skirts, dresses, sweaters, and bags. The styling is modern, easy to wear, and takes fair trade fashion a step above the stereotypical images of ethnic print tunics, sack dresses, and sling bags. I'm out to prove that fashion can be ethical, and fair trade can be stylish. You'll find custom SET Boutique prints in draped bamboo fabric, and New Zealand Merino wool that is hand spun and hand knit into cozy sweaters. I'll be adding photos to the updates tab to show you more details from the collection, so check back often!
Your funding will help me design and deliver exclusive styles through Summer and Fall 2011.
Here is a breakdown of how the funds will be used: - Sampling costs - Purchasing SET Boutique labels and hang tags - Purchasing inventory - If funding exceeds 100% the additional amount will be used for the photo shoot Thank you so much for reading about my project, and for passing it along to as many people as you know! And a huge thank you (and hug!) for your funding!
I won't let you down and I am committed to updating you! You are joining a fun project where everyone wins.
