San Diego has an extremely successful existing natural food cooperative grocery store but its right on the coast and has limited parking. San Diego needs a more centrally located co-op with ample parking to serve the growing needs of the community and you can Kickstart it into being right now!

San Diego Vegan Co-op
 WHO: You might think that San Diego, a city of almost 4 million, would have plenty of resources to establish a 2nd co-op. But we're going to have to do it ourselves. Mitch Wallis has been creating San Diego start-up vegan business's for years. Mitch lives in San Diego’s food world and he starts and manages restaurants and production kitchens. You know him and his team from Evolution Fast Food and Evo ready to eat food products.
Teagen and Rose McClain are dedicated to bring San Diego the co-op it deserves. You, your friends and families can help us make this a reality!

Rose McClain is a personal chef in San Diego. She has years of experience teaching whole foods and macrobiotic cooking. She looks forward to bringing a variety of cooking classes to San Diego’s Vegan Co-op!
Teagen McClain has organized events such as World Fest and San Diego Veg Week. She can’t wait to start filling the calendar with community events at San Diego’s Vegan Co-op!

WHAT: We’ve found an 8,000 square foot property right in the middle of town with super easy access from the main freeway. Our building has a huge underground parking garage and a fully loaded theater/auditorium for community lectures, movie nights and special events. We are transforming this large empty building into a spacious grocery store featuring fresh organic local produce, a homeopathic/herbal pharmacy, and an upstairs cafe/bakery/deli/juice bar featuring gourmet homemade organic soups, salads, entrees, desserts and all around family cooking. You can look forward to free cooking classes as well!

Seeing as how we are right next door to California's only alternative fuel station which sells bio-diesel made from 100% recycled cooking oil, propane, natural gas, and more.  We will offer hands-on workshops to assist with the conversion of automobiles to run on these clean burning fuels as well as on how to produce bio-diesel and ethynol at home.  We have a huge flat roof that we will transform into a garden to grow our own herbs and veggies!

WHEN: Progress is underway. We’re putting together our initial staff and planning our menus and the store lay-out and product mix. Construction of the 2nd floor restaurant will take about 6 months so we will be able to open in the Spring of 2013.
