Kickstarter

Hey there lovely supporters! I am almost halfway done with my residency here in Philadelphia, and it has been the most amazing experience. Turns out that Philly is nasty hot in the summer, but my studio is air conditioned, so that makes for more painting and less frolicking around (don't worry, I have been managing to make some time for fun and exploring). My experience here has solidified my desire to do this with my life- paint, sustain a studio practice, and engage in an artist community that challenges me and helps me to grow. I absolutely love Tyler and this time here has reaffirmed my desire to attend graduate school. I have made a ton of work so far, and my work is moving in the direction of installation, which is very exciting.

I will try to post more often, but I really wanted to take the time to express my gratitude. I would not be here without your support.

Hey all!

I have one week remaining in the funding of my project. I am so pleased to have met my goal and I appreciate those that have contributed past my initial goal:) I have spent the last week figuring out a place to live and plane flights.

Here are some details, if anyone is interested: I have decided to live in the dorms- that way I will be close to the studio and can hopefully get to know the other people in the program. My flights are booked (I leave June 9th and come back July 29th). Shaun is planning a trip to visit me part of the way through the program so that makes leaving him a little less sad. I am also frantically trying to figure out where to get coffee in Philadelphia- My co-workers are assisting me in coming up with the most compact and efficient brewing set-up. Rest assured. I think I am going to be ok :) Oh, and my wonderful job is letting me leave for seven weeks and return! Everything is falling into place.... crazy. And, holy crap. I get to paint for seven weeks without any other responsibilities. That is making me sooooo excited.

Wonderful friends, family, and amazing people of the interwebs. I am blown away! Today I met my goal (with 16 days remaining). So here is the deal: the project does not fund until the last day (May 28th) even though I already met my goal. I will continue to raise as much as I can beyond my initial goal so that I do not need to take out any private loans. Please continue to spread the word, and most importantly, THANK YOU for believing in me and my artwork. You all have been so gracious and I could not have done this without you.
