Michael Frayn's Copenhagen is a fictional re-examination of an actual historical event.  In 1941, in the middle of World War II with Germany at the apex of her power, famed physicist Werner Heisenberg came to occupied Copenhagen to visit his mentor, Neils Bohr, and his wife Margrethe.  The friends found themselves on opposite sides of a struggle for the future of humanity.  They shared a common bond beyond just their friendship.  They were among the three hundred or so people on the planet who had knowledge of atomic physics... and who understood it's military potential.  

We know their meeting was short, and left Bohr quite angry, but the participants never could agree on just what transpired, nor, more importantly, what it meant.  Why did Heisenberg visit Bohr?  What did he hope to accomplish?

The ghosts of the three participants, or perhaps the ghosts of the questions they left behind, return again and again to the events of 1941 to argue their meaning and to attempt to understand their own motives.  The uncertainty of physics and the uncertainty of history, of memory and of understanding are all brought under the lens of the audience and the characters in this excellent story.  Winner of the Tony award for Best Play in 2000.

WHY WE NEED YOU:  Putting on theatre isn't a money making venture.  We're hoping to raise $600, which is the cost of the royalties for our six planned performances.  If we can at least raise this much, then additional ticket sales will only have to cover our venue costs and marketing. 

WHY $630?  After kickstarter fees, that should give us almost $600.

WILL THE SHOW HAPPEN IF YOU DON'T RAISE $600?  Yes!  But getting $600 would do wonders for our ability to fund the rest of the costs and the inevitable unplanned incidentals.
