The II AM Trilogy is an urban fantasy series featuring vampires both good and evil, none of whom sparkle. Dark, violent, and sensual, the first two books have captured the imaginations of tens of thousands of readers around the world. The third book is coming in November 2012, and I am using Kickstarter for two purposes: one, to help with the up-front illustration and editing costs, and two, to offer my readers a chance to pre-order the books and get some other cool perks.

I Am Intrigued and Wish to Know More

The II AM Trilogy has thus far been an unmitigated success in the world of indie self-publishing. Released in 2009, the first book, The Blood That Bonds, was made available for free as an eBook on all major platforms and has gone on to be downloaded more than 350,000 times, garnering strong reviews across the web. The sequel, Blood Hunt, was released in 2011 as a $2.99 eBook, and has enjoyed strong sales and excellent ratings/reviews ever since. I've also produced print editions of both books.

The third book in the trilogy, The Children of the Sun, is scheduled for release in November, 2012, and will also cost $2.99 for the eBook, and around $11.99 for the print edition (it depends on the exact page count).

I'm Christopher Buecheler, the author of the books. I've produced these works myself, and to date have paid all of the costs out of my own pocket. No publisher has helped me with advances or publicity. I wrote the books, formatted the electronic and print editions, commissioned the editors and cover illustrators, designed the book covers, designed and built the websites, and managed the releases. I write my own newsletter, run my own Facebook fan page, write my own tweets, etc. I've spent countless hours of my time and thousands of my dollars on these books, and I'm happy to have done it! The success they've enjoyed and the fan community that has sprung up around them has been utterly amazing.

I can and will produce The Children of the Sun by myself if I have to, but the goal of this project is to help cover some of the up-front costs, while also rewarding fans who want to go above and beyond the $3 price tag.

The $8,000 goal will be spent entirely on editing, illustration and shipping fees, plus the cut that Kickstarter and Amazon take.

What's Up With Shipping?

• All reward tiers that feature physical deliveries (ie: signed books) include US shipping at no extra charge.
• All US shipping will be executed via USPS Media Mail.
• For international shipping, please add the amount specified in that reward tier to your pledge.
• All international shipping will be executed via US Postal Service Priority Mail Flat-Rate envelopes (1 book) or boxes (3 books).
• In all international cases, I have deducted the cost of US shipping from the international rate, so you're not paying the markup for the US and then also paying for international on top of it.
• I can ship almost anywhere in the world, but if you have concerns about your location, please contact me to be sure. 

What are the Stretch Goals?

Of course! Can't have a Kickstarter without stretch goals. Here's what I've got planned if we reach the following amounts:

• $12,000: Everyone who pledged $20 or more gets a postcard of the TCotS cover, which you can mail to ANYONE YOU WANT!
• $16,000: Limited Edition 6"x9" Signed TCotS Hard-covers become available as pledge rewards (price point TBD). These are the only hard-covers that will EVER be made.
• $20,000: Limited Edition 6"x9" Signed Hard-covers of the FULL TRILOGY become available as pledge rewards (price point TBD). These are the only hard-covers that will EVER be made.
