I recently wrote and illustrated an ABC book. I'd like to print and distribute as many copies as possible and send any extras to children's hospitals!
My Book
ABC is a children's book packed with quirky and charming creatures who want to help you learn the alphabet from A to Z! It's perfect for preschoolers and parents to share, and was written so that it has a lively rhythm when read aloud. ABC is currently available as a softcover book and as an app for iPhone and iPad.
My Goal
I poured a lot of energy into writing, illustrating, designing and self-publishing this book (not to mention learning how to program for iPhone) and I really want to get it out there so that more kids can read it! I want the book to make them giggle and hopefully help them with their reading. I'm not looking to make money from it. I'm actually using all of the profits to donate copies to children's hospitals.
Current Efforts
I'm currently selling the book via Blurb.com and the app is available in the App Store. It's selling at a slow but steady pace. So far, I've been able to donate copies to The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada, the Children's Centre at Moorfield's Eye Hospital in London, England, and the Uday Foundation's Storytelling Program in New Delhi, India. I'm planning to send some more out in the next few weeks.
This Project
My hope is that this project will allow me to print and distribute as many copies of the book as possible. I'm really excited about giving them out as rewards for people who contribute to the project and I'm looking forward to sending out more copies to hospital libraries.
