The Bluefields School of Music is seeking support to produce professional quality CDs featuring the first graduates from our young artists program, and their teachers from the older generation of musicians.

The music has been recorded, mixed, and mastered, and all we need to do is press the album.

The Bluefields School of Music program is designed to give talented and disadvantaged youth from this poor region of Central America an opportunity to record and produce their own songs with the assistance of veteran local artists and visiting producers and engineers.

This CD will help fundraise for future students in the Bluefields School of Music.

Young artists taking part in the program learn traditional Maypole songs and other indigenous music on guitars, keyboards, banjo’s and percussion. They also get a computer course on graphic design, simple web design and audio production.

The first graduates and teachers of the program have put together an amazing collection of gritty reggae, dancehall, hip-hop, and traditional mento songs that are inspired in equal measure by traditional sounds and modern life in this far flung corner of the Caribbean.

All of the artists have recorded their tracks in our new recording studio in Bluefields and we need funding to master and press the CDs so we can distribute this amazing music to a wider audience. These professionally produced discs will then be sold both locally and internationally in order to fund classes for the next generation of artists who we are currently selecting for the program.

Your contribution is essential in enabling us to make this program self sustainble and making sure these hot tunes reach the widest possible audience. The Artists have the skills and the tunes are ready, we only need a little support to finish the CD.
