Empowering our youth through music.
With singing in church for nearly all of his life, it's time for his debut studio CD.
But this is not your typical CD release. Alfred is has intertwined the anticipated success of his CD with reaching out to the young people in his hometown of Memphis Tn. in particular, the Orange Mound area. Historically, Orange Mound was known as one of the largest black communities in America, second only to Harlem in Chicago Ill. Alfred’s desire is for this CD to help fund the children food and music programs that his and other churches in the community have implemented. His goal is to see these programs as a model that will be duplicated not only in Memphis but throughout the country.
Alfred has partnered with Memphis Cotton Row Studio producer Niko Lyras and Nashville producer Mario ‘RIO’ Moore. The walls of Niko’s studio are lined with the covers of albums and CDs recorded there, representing virtually every musical genre: classical, jazz, gospel artists like Edwin Hawkins and the Clark Sisters. His musical and production talents have also been heard in major motion pictures and television shows. His work has been widely honored by his peers, including a BMI songwriting award, a Critics Choice award from the Broadcast Film Critics Assoc., the Canadian Juno and Felix awards, three NARAS Premier Player honors and four ADDY awards.
Featured on this album is the Grammy Award winning Saxophonist Kirk Whalum! He's played for some of the best artists in the world working with artists like Whitney Houston, Willie Norwood,Babyface, Nancy Wilson, Yolanda Adams, Take 6, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Barbra Streisand, Kirk Franklin, Edwin Hawkins, Quincy Jones, Kevin Mahogany, Al Green, and Luther Vandross. And now he's playing for me because he believes in this project and what it's trying to accomplish for our youth. His solo on Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" is known around the world!
We're all very excited about this project, but we NEED YOUR HELP to finish and expand this music ministry. I have raised over half of what I need to finish recording and would be so very blessed if you would consider partnering with me to expand the ministry God has chosen for me.
Being a musician requires sacrifice and I'll admit that it has been difficult for me at times. However, I firmly believe it is important for all of us to do our best with what God has given us and my music ministry allows me to spread the message of "going out and making a difference." I plan on continuing to use my music to inspire others for as long as God allows me this privilege. We live in a world that needs to hear a message of hope, forgiveness and service to others. My promise to all of you reading this is that my music, ministry, marriage and life will continue to be led by prayer and filled with service and love to others. I was once a prodigal son but God brought me back into a joyful relationship with him. My hope is to share with others that no matter how far they’ve gone from God that he is waiting to welcome them back home. I hold this truth close to my heart every day.

This CD will be the BEST recording I've ever done! We've really taken our time selecting strong songs that convey a strong message. I'm also excited about the great new sound we are getting with our new producer and I think you guys will love it too. In addition to the brand new, original songs we are recording, I have decided to include an original Christmas song seeing that the release date will be close to the holidays. Don't worry, while we've been changing things up a bit and going for a little different sound, I'm still ME :) Just a better "Me" than before. HA! This album will showcase who I am as a musician and a person better than any of my previous projects.

My hope is to release it this year during the holidays, but of course we need to finish recording.
We have started laying down tracks on the first 5 songs but still need to get overdubs recorded and the songs have to be mixed and mastered. We are shooting for 12 or more total songs for the album. If funding falls into place, our goal is to release the CD in October or November of this year. -
So many, over the years, have asked how you could help my music. At this time, contributing to this Kickstarter campaign is the best way to be a part of and help this ministry. It is an expensive undertaking to record music and most people don't realize all the factors that go into making a record. From producers who help craft the song and sound, to the engineers who do the actual recording, to the millions of other details in between, there always seems to be "one more bill". While this can be overwhelming, the good news is that for this record I've been able to raise over half of what we need!!! I am now asking if you could help with the second half. We can DO IT!
