Update #14: Update 11-2-10
The books are coming from cubicle7.
Here is what I was told.
If you are in America the book should be arriving roughly late next week sometime
If you are outside the U.S. the books are being shipped overseas to the UK and from there they will be disseminated to all the glorious and wonderful lands I can only read about.
The good new s that the books exist and are in the system and being handled. The not so good news is that at this point I can only rely on what I’m told just like you guys.
I’m not sure what the situation at the warehouse is but I have to assume that who ever is working there is doing their best to get everyone taken care of. Personally its very important that everyone who helped out get taken care of ASAP since you have all been so generous. If I had the resources and infrastructure I would have shipped the books as well but the logistics are such that it would have been a huge undertaking.
All I ask is that everyone just bare with me a little longer
Sorry for the hassle but be assured that books are on their way
Update #13: Update 11-2-10
Just an update
The books are on their way to the warehouse and vinyl is in the mail.
The books should make it to the warehouse sometime this week and they should start mailing out soon.
As another bit of news I plan on getting all the kickstarter names tattooed on my back next to my William Blake Red Dragon ….gosh I hope I have room.
Maybe I’ll put it next to the tattoo of Steve-O’s face

Update #12: Update 3 (9.21.10)
The books will be on a boat soon making their voyage here. But since that’s not very much of an update I figured I would share what I’m up to.
HELLAS: Wine Dark Void
Here is where I’m at with the next book. I have scribbled notes for the book hanging on my wall. I know where I’m going but I type with three fingers so going is slow.
If all goes well and HALO doesn’t get in the way I should have this cranked out soon
Equipment- In progress (this section is huge and covers, housing, clothing makeup, weapons, armor, and food)
Vehicles- Not Started (but I started on the ship designs in 3D Studio Max)
Items of Renown- Partial done (Just have to tidy up the rules a bit)
Corporations and Guilds of the Known Worlds- Not started
Slipspace Phenomenon- DONE (this was easy and went away in on a Saturday afternoon)
Slipspace encounters- In progress (pirate bases, criminal cartels, the love boat)
Expanded Metousia System- In progress (I’m not sure about this section and may chuck it and start over...for like the 4th time)
Expanded Vehicle Rules- In progress
Delphoi Legion- Partial start (I rolled an 8)
Just wanted to keep you guys in the loop

Sounds great, Jerry!
But, and don´t take this the wrong way... please, please... change the way ships looks cause they´re the ugliest thing in a otherwise visually compelling game... :S So if you done them... don´t be such an renaissance man! Delegate! LOL
PD: Guilds of the Know Worlds... Fading Suns and Stone? ;-)

Update #11: Update 2
UPDATE 8.24.2010
I plan on keeping you guys in the look as much as possible and this was just to touch bases.
Nothing to really announce yet. We got the proofs back a few days before Gencon and sent the approval back the day we got home.
The book is being printed and if nothing wacky happens I should be getting an email in a few weeks letting me know the books are done.
Now that doesn’t mean you’ll be getting your books soon since they still have to be shipped from across the pacific.
A few of you has asked when I will need address. Not yet. If you give them to me now I will only loose them and ask again later. Save your self the trouble and wait for me to ask.
I’ve rambled enough…time to go watch terrible sci-fi channel TV shows
Thanks

Since Kickstarter just asked for addresses, does that mean good news?

Update #10: Podcast Interview
You can hear a small interview for HELLAS over at Zero Fortitude (episode 43)
http://www.zerofortitude.com/
Go over there and join there forum and tell them how terrible the game is.

Update #9: Update1
UPDATE 7.20.2010
I just thought everyone would like to know that the book is away at the printers. The book is 176 including the new princes, the credits, the corrections and a 2 page surprise at the end of the book
Now It’s a back and forth with the proof (hopefully only once) and then I wait for the books to make the trip. Once here I plan on shipping your books out way before the rest of the public gets their books.
I plan on keeping you guys in the loop every step of the way so that you can share in my anxiety as I wait ; p
So far everything is irie and I hope it stays that way
My next project is getting everything ready for Gencon and the next supplement done and out of the way.

I recently moved. What's the best way to make sure you have my correct address before you start shipping books?

Update #8: 3 Days
3 days to go and it looks like we hit our goal!
Thank you to everyone who generously supported the kickstart. We still have three days to go so it’s not over till its over.
This is the perfect time to get your friends who were on the fence to pledge and get a book. They now know its going to happen so they may as well take advantage of your hard work and my good fortune.
I want to say that I’m honestly touched by the support that you have shown me and HELLAS. A lot of time working on the game is spent in a small close space not getting any type of feedback. It’s really touching to know that so many people have an enthusiasm for HELLAS and the coming books. It kinda recharges the batteries and stokes the fire in my belly to keep going.
I don’t know how many times I can say it but I guess one more time can’t hurt
Thank you :)
-Jerry
Update #7: 7 Days!
$7,625!
7 days to go and I have nothing new to add. From my perspective it looks very good and I’m sure we’ll make it to the goal. So far all of you have been great and very supportive. I really appreciate the enthusiasm.
I’ve started work on the next supplement the Wine Dark Void. It’s the HELLAS version of a slice of life magazine/ J Peterman’s catalog. It’s going to be fun to write and my brain is racing with ideas for it. I want to explore the Delphoi Legion, beach front property, the wilds of the Panthalassa, chic clothing and the latest in goat meat preparation.
Oh and By the way lets all wish the American team good luck in their match against Slovenia today.
Not that we’ll need it or anything…just sayin’…
Update #6: Vinyl Maps
Hello everyone,
Just as an F.Y.I. I found I could do the vinyl maps a bit cheaper than previously thought. I had one printed and it looks really good. I’ve put them up as a pledged amount for those who are interested.
Thanks!
-Jerry

Andy Kitkowski on June 10, 2010
Just as an F.Y.I I found I could easily increase my bid by $40 for that vinyl map.
-
Jean philippe MELINE on June 10, 2010
This map is looking great, but what aabout the shiping fees for outside USA? Shall I just add 40 bucks to my original pledge (already augmented by 10$ for international shiping)?
-
Update #5: 16 Days to go
16 days and $3,667 to go. That breaks down to little under 81 more people pledging $45. It sounds like a lot but I have a good feeling that we’ll make it.
At the moment I’m working on the adventures I plan on running at GenCon this year. If you’re going to be a GenCon sign up and take a seat at my table.
Update #4: What is everyone playing?
What is everyone playing?
At the moment I’m in two games a week. On Wednesdays we are starting a Battlestar Galactica game and on Fridays I’m playing in a homebrew post apocalypse game.
I’ve never played the Battlestar game but the system looks solid and I like the material so hopefully that one will be a hit. Not sure what I want to play in that game. I’m leaning towards a janitor who managed to get aboard one of the ships…not sure.
Anyway, what are you playing?

Update #3: HELLAS maps
I just got the HELLAS maps from the printers. They look great. I know this picture wont do them justice but I just thought I’d share
-Jerry
Update #2: A question I was posed with
This questioned was posed to me over at RPGnet: “Just thought up a question: if we pledge 90$, would we be able to get two copies of each of the books?”
The question is reasonable and one that got me thinking. I took a look at the Arc Dream Kickstart (http://kck.st/crJE9q) and cribbed.
Here is what I came up with-
For each additional $25 pledged, you get another physical copy of Princes of the Universe shipped to the same address.
What do you think?
-
-
Felix Girke on May 25, 2010
Couldn't you make it alternatively "another physical copy of the CORE BOOK"?
I know this is all about producing Princes, but I caught the drift that many people use this as an occasion to get into HELLAS, period, and they would be better off with two core books than two princes. my 2 cents. -
Jerry D. Grayson on May 25, 2010
I could do that as well but the cost for the core book would be $40
That’s not a problem
-
John Whitfield on May 25, 2010
Felix has a good point. I'm one of those people who is using this as an opportunity to get into HELLAS, so 2 core books would be better for me.

Update #1: Thanks for the help so far
Hello everyone,
I wanted to thank everyone for their help with the kiskckstart so far. With only 35 days to go we are already 43% funded with$3,774.1 of 8,700 (I know that one cent is going to throw us over the top).
Everyone who has already pledged can help me by spreading the word and talking about the kickstart on the various forums you visits. Also drop me a line and let me know of HELLAS talk I may not be aware of and I’ll drop in and participate in the conversation.
If you know someone who may be interested send them my way and I’ll personally evangelize about the book and the HELLAS world. There are also two threads that are dedicated to the Kickstart project that you can participate in.
http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php...
http://www.aeforge.com/aeforum/showthread.php...
Again if you know of any that I’m not aware of please let me know. Also, feel free to start a thread on your favorite forum if one doesn’t exist.
Since the initial push pledges have slowed down a bit and I want to stay on top of the project and keep the interest up. The $100 pledges went very fast and people have suggested I throw another premium offer up. I want to do something that has value but doesn’t disregard the generous pledges that have already been made. I’d like to know what you all think
First off, the idea is to do something for everyone that’s helping me without spending a lot of money or turning the kickstart into a swap meet. I don’t want to cheapen the experience and I want to offer something in thanks for the generous support everyone is providing.
So here are my ideas-
I could do another $100 pledge that includes everything in the $60 pledge plus the HELLAS graphic novel that I’m sitting on. The Graphic novel is planed to appear in the supplement Wine Dark Sea (I’m working on now) but I would be willing to give everyone who pledges a copy of the graphic novel months before it’s released. An uncolored sample can be found below.
http://www.godsendagenda.com/art/winedarkvoid_Sample.pdf
I could do a vinyl map for a $140 pledge like the one in the following link http://www.hellasrpg.com/images/origins-thursday/booth2.jpg
If anyone has any suggestions of what I can do please don’t hesitate to contact me or post a comment at the kickstart site.
Again thank you for the help so far. I really appreciate what everyone has done and I’m grateful for your generosity
Jerry

Nocture,
Thanks for the kind words. I translated the site and had a look around. The translations weren’t that good so the reading was a bit tough.
If there are any questions I can answer for you or your groups please don’t hesitate to ask.
Thank you for the support.

Tony,
Everyone who donates is cool.
In fact everyone who has pledged is on par with the guy in the link below

If there is an available email I can sent you a translated versioin of the basics (regarding ESPAIROS). Regarding my review it was nothing more than explaining the basics and that is OMNI, races and fluff.

Great! I got my PDF. When will we receive the PDF for the core Hellas Game? I pledged at a level to receive that too but did not yet.
If the books are coming from a warehouse sight unseen by you I guess that means that our books will not be signed. Oh well, at least my name will be printed in it. :-)
My copy just came in the mail today! Hooray! and I got top billing on the credits page. (yay for having a fortuitous first and last name, alphabetically!) LOL
