Rewards Update

Update #11 · Feb 29, 2012 · 2 comments

Thank you again for your patience.

FINALLY, the posters are printed and ready to go! Please notify me if your address has recently changed. Otherwise, all rewards are being shipped out this week.

As for the film, I just finished my last interview with LaDonna this month and it was a great success! My editor is busy cutting away and I am raising the final bits of funding and sourcing in-kind services. It is so exciting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!!  And we couldn't have done it without your support. I mean that. Every last one of you had a hand in moving this project forward in a time when it was most needed.

Many, many thanks to you all.

Update #9 · Jul 19, 2011 · comment

Hi there!

Just a quick note to say that we are working hard on getting all these rewards together, so please be patient with us. Posters need to be created, prints need to be printed and jewelry and pottery needs to be made! Some items will take longer than others, but we are looking at least a few weeks before the mailings begin.

I will contact you soon for mailing information.

Thanks again! We love you all!!

Thank you!

Update #8 · Jul 10, 2011 · comment

Wow! We did it!!

My deepest and most heartfelt thanks go to all the donors and those who helped to spread the word about this fundraising campaign. LaDonna, Laura and I could not be more thrilled. We were bowled over with the generosity, really.

I received an email from someone before we finished who was asking what my strategy was to be so successful before the deadline. He asked how many ads we'd purchased and how much publicity it had received and I told him that we hadn't taken out any ads and had received very little publicity - the success was a result of those people who have been impacted by LaDonna or those that have simply seen the preview video of her legacy and who are immediately taken by her. She has this 'medicine' that just draws you to her warmth and knowledge - you don't even have to know her to feel her strength.

This strength and medicine is very important to our Native communities and I am honored to be making this film. I know I will be most proud of this than anything I've done and I couldn't keep it going without your support this past month.

So again, thank you! Ura!

Only 24 hours to go!

Update #7 · Jul 7, 2011 · 1 comment

Thanks to your generosity, persistence, encouragement and overall support, we have reached the initial goal we set for our fundraising campaign! Our hearts are full of gratitude and we could not ask for a better network for "LaDonna Harris: Indian 101".

BUT THE CAMPAIGN IS NOT OVER YET. We still have a little more than 24 hours to go and the opportunity to raise an even greater amount of funding that will help "LaDonna Harris: Indian 101" get finished & out into the world even faster. There is no question that there is a great need for LaDonna's story to be told, for current and future Indigenous leaders to learn from her experience, and for greater peace and communication to be achieved through sharing such wisdom. So if you can find it in your heart (and wallet) to gently increase your initial donation, we will be able to speed through the final production steps on Mama LaDonna's movie.

Any additional donations we receive will help cover a range of costs including copyright fees, music, editing, and much more. Every donation no matter how small has helped add up to a very significant amount of funding, so we hope you will continue spreading the word so that everyone you know realizes how much of an impact they can have, even at the last minute. Invite everyone you know to be a part of "LaDonna Harris: Indian 101" - it's a community full of inspiration and positivity, as you've already helped us prove!
